Cool super cool

Comments about LEGO Super Heroes Superman Battle of Smallville 76003:

This set recreates the dramatic battle of smallville in the movie "Man of Steel" with the Kryptonian ship, the droopship with Super missiles, rotating barrel, wineries, driving caps for two minifigures, wings manageable for any space, is super cool. but superman and Colonel hardy are ready to face the unstoppable threat, with its 4x4, rotating and superman missile with laser eyes and super strength ready for any threat. Kryptonians will be defeated and the Man of Steel save the day.

Good set with awesome minifigures!

By TheMagneth

Comments about LEGO Super Heroes Superman Battle of Smallville 76003:

First of all, I want to say that this set is not fully worth the money (even though I got it for a great price from the States, relative to what it costs here in Norway, more than 50% cheaper) But if you have enough money, and like Superman or just the Man of Steel movie itself, then go for it. You get some fantastic minifigures with it and the set itself isn't too bad. Now let's dive into it. Included in the set is a dropship from the Black Zero spaceship you see in the Man of Steel movie + a nice, beige army jeep with a missile launcher + 5 awesome minifigures. let's start with the minifigs. The minifigures: - Superman/Kal-El/Clark Kent: A very good representation of Superman. I haven't been much into Superman before, so I don't have any other minifigs, but I can definitely say that this is a great fig. He's got that cool marine blue main color, and accurate details on his body like the S-symbol and the silver markings he had in the movie. The red cape is cool, he got original Superman hair style (not entirely accurate to the movie, but very cool nonetheless) and a serious looking face. On his second face are his laser eyes and an angry expression, which is an awesome detail too. Overall, nothing to complain about with this guy. - Colonel Hardy: The weakest fig in the set, but good to have as an army minifigure nonetheless. Has dark sand-colored legs and torso and printing on the torso only. Printing is decent, good enough to look like he's a military guy. Simple face and no hair , even though he has a slight bit of hair in the movie, but he probably was most accurate as bald in LEGO form. Comes with the standard, non-accurate alien conquest blaster. So quite bad. Luckily, he's not an important character and the other minifigs in the set are way better. - Tor-An: Not sure which character from the movie he's supposed to be, but I think he's supposed to be the huge, bodyguard-like kryptonian from the battle scene this set depicts. Quite standard, he has good printing, but no accessories, cape or armor or anything, just a plain face and plain hair (thus, not so accurate to the movie). Although, honestly, I don't care much about this figure as he's just a minor character, and the absence of any accessories make him easy to fit in the dropship as a pilot. - Faora: Now this is one awesome fig! Similar to General Zod, they both have awesome armor, and look great both with and without it. Faora has body printing that is on the same level as all the other kryptonians, and a nice cape in addition. She comes with spiky hair to use when the armor's off, which is accurate only to how she looks in the first part of the movie, but that's okay. She has both a flirting face and an angry one. When the armor is on, she looks pretty cool. The helmet is the same as Zod's, which is a great piece anyways. The body armor is still unique, and a good representation of how it looked like in the movie, although it's missing some feminine shape it had in the movie. Faora also comes with the awesome Kryptonian blaster. - General Zod: Probably the best minifigure in the set, if not Superman or Faora. When the armor's off, he looks quite good. His face is good enough and his hair is slightly inaccurate, but he has a cool laser eye second face like Supes. Still, it's when Zod is donning his armor things get serious. He has the same helmet and blaster as Faora, but a unique chest plate. The chest amor is totally accurate and totally awesome, and this is where Zod is in his right element. Awesome figure! The build: Very straight-forward and simplistic compared to what I would expect. I do not like the way the technic cannons (which are awesome btw) are attached, as it seems fragile. Still, it IS pretty sturdy when it's built, but it decreases the feeling of good build quality. Both models have interesting ranges of colors used in the build. The jeep, although repetitive, is pretty fun to build. It also comes with a big cab piece which is really rare these days. The dropship on the other hand is more boring with little variation and some tedious repetitive builds. On the other hand, there are few stickers in this set, which is a good plus. The design: The jeep turned out to be better than expected. Even though it has little amount of detail and looks like it's been stretched out, Is still think it's cool. I love the wheels (even though the axles are slightly displaced), and the design just feels right, even though it is a little inaccurate to a real army jeep and just looks a bit weird. It has seats for two thanks to the special cab piece and a weird but cool missile launcher on the flatbed behind. The launcher can move 360 degrees and has lights, an antennae and blue-colored missiles that moves up and down. These are weird, as no missiles are blue, but you can imagine they are specially made for use against Kryptonians , and thus have unique warheads. Overall a good vehicle. The dropship is very good, and it should as it is the main part of the set. It is accurate to the movie version, although not as organic-looking as the ship in the movie. It has a delightful color combination of dark grey and green, which is slightly inaccurate but very eye-pleasing. It has an overall round shape with some pointy pieces several places on the set. It has two antennas and two sets of fins used for maneuvering the dropship. These can fold in and out, turn around and split open for different flight modes. It also has a bulb front with a very nice-looking cannon beneath. On top are three bulb-shaped cockpits, two of which are so-called "weapon racks". The ship has an overall organic shape and looks very alien. Accurate and cool. The functions: The jeep has a rotating missile launcher as mentioned earlier, and can fire two blue flick missiles. They are as good as any other flick missiles, which depends on how well you flick. I actually like the missile launcher, it gives Superman some help in the fight. (which he probably don't need anyways) Even better than the jeep is the dropship. It has those moving wings, and is also able to turn the cannon on the belly around. And if you want, you can detach the supporting pillar used for helping the ship stand on the ground, when in flight. The main cockpit opens and reveal TWO spaces for minifigures. This is unusual, but very cool. Sadly it's not enough to store all the three evil kryptonians onboard, but it's still very good. The two other non-transparent cockpits open to reveal empty space and a folding brick on each side. These are supposed to be weapon racks for the kryptonians' guns. You just stick the handle into the folding brick, fold it down and close the hatch. This works great, but it feels like a waste of space. Since there are only two small handguns for the kryptonians in this set, there's no real point in having two huge bays for weapons. Instead LEGO should have made some bigger weapons that would take more space and included them in the set, as that would make the weapon racks serve their purpose better. But don't worry, the storage bays can be used for other things as well. It is a good idea to have Faora and Zod's capes in there, to make them fit better in the cockpit. And there's enough room in the bays to fit all the weapons, armor and capes all at the same time. With some struggle you can also fit a minifig in the bay, but without any accessories. Anyways, the best part of the dropship is that it's armed with two technic shooters! As you may know, these work great and shoot really far, so it's nice to see two of these on the dropship. They're also well integrated, so it's not so obvious that they're there. This makes the dropship very fun to play with. Summary: Pros: - Amazing minifigures, especially Faora, Zod and Superman - Faora and Zod look good both armor off and on - Cool jeep design - Good-looking dropship - Satisfying color scheme - Missile launcher is a nice addition to the jeep - Awesome technic cannons on the dropship - Lots of room in the dropship - Overall good playability Cons: - Colonel Hardy has little detail - Faora is missing some of the feminine look - Some odd design on the jeep - Long and repetitive build on the dropship - Technic cannons cheaply attached in the build - Too few weapons for the weapon rack There are some small minifigure design flaws here and there and the designer could probably have spent a little more time on the the jeep and build of the dropship. But other than that this is a very cool set that brings a cool craft from the movie with good features, a nice sand-colored army jeep that nicely complements the set and can be used in battle MOCs as well, and, of course, the majority of the awesome main characters from the movie, mostly represented very well. I would say that this is the best set to go for if you are planning to get only one MOS set, as this set is the most movie accurate and features most of the important figs (you will only miss Lois Lane). Also the price is not he best. Well, I can't complain about the bargain I got, but for others, it might be too expensive. But if you won't look too much at the price, this is a good set to get.

Comments about LEGO Super Heroes Superman Battle of Smallville 76003:

This set is a good by because you get all three of the villains, superman, and colonel hardy which are all good. You also get the Black Zero ship which is cool they should have an attachment point for the escape pod from the other set. This should be like a 30-40 dollar set.

Epic Battle Of Smallville!

By JMCbricks

from Hartsdale

Comments about LEGO Super Heroes Superman Battle of Smallville 76003:

Hello again, I recently purchased this set in hype of the upcoming film. It is a little small for $50 in Both count and actual size, but it is overall a great set and a better value than 76007 Iron Man: Malibu Mansion Attack (which I have also acquired). I will now review the set in multiple categories. Minifigures: This set excels in the categories of minifigures. Superman, Zod, Faora, and Tor-An all have back printing and excellent capes. The new armor pieces that Zod and Faora wear are fantastic and highly film accurate. They also feature a new type of gun that looks really awesome. The only weak link is Colonel Hardy, who is really just a generic army figure with an ADU gun. His torso might be useful for those looking to build custom soldier minifigs. The Build: The build here is pretty straight forward and will not take much time to complete. The first bag contains the Army Truck and the other three contain the Black Zero Dropship. Unusually, I found there to be more antenna pieces on this set than any other I own. There are some interesting areas on the Dropship and not too many stickers, but it is still nothing really exciting. The Finished Product/Playability: This set looks great when finished and has great playability. The Army Truck is a nice touch, but is not overly interesting with a very basic design and limited function. The Dropship, however, is fantastic and one of the best looking ships from Lego in a long time. The best things about it are the twin missle launchers attached on the bottom. These are not flick-fire. They are actually the old type of missle launcher that ACTUALLY WORK. They have impressive range and add to the fun of playing with the set. It is also great the large cockpit can fit two minifigs. This set will look great while it is either on your shelf or being played with. Final Thoughts: Easily the best set from the Super Heroes theme that I have and a blast to play with. Buy right away! Enjoy, JMCbricks

Great value DC Comics set!

By TimDRX

from Birmingham

Comments about LEGO Super Heroes Superman Battle of Smallville 76003:

I was put off the equivalent Batman set, the Bane Tumbler Chase, due to the somewhat low sounding piece count, and was not a fan of the Tumbler design. In contrast, this feels like great value for £40 - you get over 400 pieces and 5 minifigs. The little army truck is a nice little addition, but the Black Zero spaceship is where the set shines with it's fantastic design. Very fun to build with a few little asymmetrical touches that really make it feel alien. Reminds me of those old Insectoid ships! My only complaint would be that the underside is a little bland, and it needs to rest on it's cannon as a stand. Very happy with this set, just wish the other DC Comics sets were this reasonable. ;D

Another good Man of Steel Set!!!

By brickprince1999

from london

Comments about LEGO Super Heroes Superman Battle of Smallville 76003:

So this is the most expensive Man of Steel set, and It lives up to expectations. Superman - Love the minifigure, realistic to the film, unique design and detailed Colonel Hardy - a ok minifigure, good If you want to collect or get some army lego, reminds me of Bane for some reason. Overall I like the figure and that It could be used for Army, although theres been no theme of that. General Zod - A fab minifigure, realistic and love the design. Great to have another Superman villain!! Faora - Awesome, love the armour which is given through this superman theme, looks epic and really cool. Great minifigure. Tor-An - yet again awesome. Love the armour, great to have to 3 villains. Now have 4 for the superman collection, really Impressed with the design and great detail. The Jeep/army truck Is rather small, would have been nice for It to be bigger or taller, It's a ok design however pretty plain and boring. However It looks good and Is useful for the set. It serves It purpose! The jet has a great colour scheme and Is very unique to me, as I don't have any thing slightly similar as have no star Wars or any alien theme. The pit Is great, good you can fit In two minifigures shame you cant get 3, considering theres 3. Liking the big missile launcher, been a long time since I got a set with one. They are by far more powerful than the flick file missiles, however flick file missile's Is what makes lego special. The weapon holder Is nice, good to have but you could put minifigures In It as the whole point of lego Is to be Imaginative. I like the look as lego seemed to go away from building a typical Jet by making It more unique/different. Well the film designers probably designed the film Jet, so Lego just replicated the jet, well hopefully. anyway I love this set, different to most of the DC sets, well It's the first Dc film I think were they have done this, made more than 1 set unlike marvel which has had some more like Avengers, spider man, and Iron Man. The minifigures are great, like the armyish theme. And overall brilliant, really recommend this set. 9/10.
