I had been on the fence about upgrading to the new 3DS XL from my original 3DS model. Aside from the size of the screens and the battery not much has changed. The one thing that disappointed me about the device is the resolution was not improved along with the screen size. However, the custom color and Pikachu design are really well done, the battery is substantially better, and some of the button placement and quality has improved (such as Home, Start, and the 3D depth slider). If you have bad eye sight like I do or just need more room to maneuver and can find a great deal on the larger model, the XL is the way to go. Having said that the 3DS eShop and all functionality remain the same from the original 3DS version.

This system is great. I had a 3ds before this, and finnaly up graded to the XL. I am so glad i did now. I love the Pikachu on the front, and I love the giant screen. Can't wait for Pokemon X&Y!!!!!

The line formed at many Toys'R'Us spanning a 10 mile radius from my home were packed on March 24th, seniors, adults, young adults, some babies (with their parents!), were all waiting for this hot item of Limited Edition Pikachu Nintendo 3DS XL by Nintendo.

This was the right time to get my 3DS gaming on and I can't think of a better way than re-visiting a past favorite-themed 3DS like Pokemon. There are very few, not even a handful of limited edition 3DS models released in the world currently. Most being out of USA and one more Pokemon 3DS XL model in Japan.

It's safe to say that when this item released on March 24th, all pokemon and new 3DS XL owners cheered as well as rushed to the stores to buy every copy left.

Pikachu has been the largest mascot to the Pokemon franchise for over 13 years now. It's safe to say that very few can resist the charm of the yellow electric mouse and it has shocked its way straight to our hearts.

Count on the novelty and enthusiasm of many Nintendo, 3DS fans, and newcomers to the franchise to pick this item up.

Absolutely love this. I saw it came out in Japan and Europe last year and waited eagerly for it. When it was announced for North America I counted down the days to get it. I have a regular 3DS But this screen is so big, and it helps that it has an adorable pikachu on the front. I recommend this product, even though pikachu will be sold out, it should have no different technology than the other 3DS XLs.
