You have to give the Flutterbye a chance.. at first it may be challenging but the more you play with it the easier it becomes. My 7 year old played with one in a TRU store when they were demoing it. She got the hang of it right away. It took my 4 year old a lot longer. At first she was scared of it but after some time she started to like it. All the other reviews that say it flies out of control, etc are correct until you get the hang of it. Once you have played with it, it is actually pretty easy to control. Also the comments about the battery life are false as well. Like I said we were playing with these in the store and they had been demoing them for over 3 hours before we got there and they still were working pretty good! They did require time on the charger. It does stink that they require 6 AA batteries but the actual charge last for quite a while. Overall I think these are very cute and entertaining but best suited for older kids like 6, 7 and up. I can not wait until Christmas morning when my girls get to open these!!!

We bought this for our granddaughters birthday gift when her parents turned it on the wings went so fast it kicked up dust off the ground then it shot up in the air about 6 stories high then took off down the street never to be seen again. Funny, but very disappointing can't even return it to get our money back since we can't find it. It's was like a rocket with no control.

Comments about Spin Master 1001130 Flutterbye Flying Fairy Doll - Pink Flower:
Cute. Lousy connections. Poor instructions. Never did fly. Online instructions contradicted poor instructions in box. At least they could have used proper English and spelling.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Great product until it breaks
This was a gift for my 6 yr old daughter for Christmas. She loved it and the product worked for a week until one of the wing brackets broke. Now all the fairy does is vibrate due to being unbalanced. I tried to glue the bracket back together...no luck. Buy with caution.
would never buy this product again
the fairy broke on the second launch. is not made well at all. i would not recommend this for any child. was very cute but very disapointing. not worth the money at all.
Works great if you read the directions.

My just turned 5 year old got the hang of this on her 2nd try. I first read the directions to her and I, we watched a couple youtube videos and knew what we had to do AND WHAT NOT TO DO. I don't know why there are so many bad reviews, this is a really cool toy! It does seem to fly like magic. As long as you keep your hand underneath you can direct her around and she goes up and down depending how far your hand is from her feet. Grab her by the legs and move her to a new spot as long as you keep her vertical she won't zoom off or crash. If she does crash, her wings can be put back on easily. We got a good 7 minutes of fly time, going over and over or having her fly for a solid few minutes. Then she recharges on her base. Just perfect for the attention span of a 5 year old. LOVE this toy!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

waste of money..
from Montevideo, MN
My daughter wanted one of these SOOOO bad and screamed like crazy when she finally opened it on Christmas. She was so excited! when we finally let her take it out she was playing with it, but we couldn't keep it in the air. It would freak out and fly where ever and run into everything in site! even in an empty room it would just fly straight sideways and hit the wall and fall. After hitting the wall 4 times it stopped working. Pretty sad for a toy that is meant to fly, i mean, they should realize it is probably going to hit the ground eventually! To only be able to drop 4 times and then never work again is pretty sad. We ended up throwing it away the first day we bought it! Terrible. Seriously, keep looking and save your money on this one.

Waaay not like the TV ad
By Will R
from Brisbane, Australia
Plugged it in, and the whizzing noise scared my daughter from the start. I know that it has a motor to make it fly, but that somehow doesn't make its way into the TV ads. It is loud - just an RC copter, not like a silent "tv ad' fairy. And it hardly just floats serenely up and down - I am running all over the show to try and control it. Average flight time is 20 secs before it crashes. Which horrifies my daughter. Not a cool child's toy, let alone a cool girl's toy. Looks neat on the ads, ask for a demo at the store first. If we had seen it fly, we would not have bought it. The kids on the ads sure must have spent some time practicing with these things.

My daughter wanted a Flutterbye Fairy ever since they came out. BAD. I don't know we just didn't do it for Christmas for no particular reason. Couple weeks ago I broke down and got it she LOVED it. Although not exactly what we thought she still loved it. Bummed it does not plug in and uses batteries but she loved it. HOWEVER, directions say it will only work for 7-12 minutes and then must be charged for 20 minutes. okay another bummer. But she loved it so much she played with it for 3 hours straight charging 20 minutes every 7-12 minutes as it would die just as directions said it would. The next day it barely had power to power up so after day one it needs SIX new batteries. I changed them out because she loved it so much but it wouldn't charge. we tried and tried... even another set of batteries thinking bad batts but no... no charge. So we exchanged it at the store for another one. THIS one was even cooler. It flew completely different than the other one and did more tricks. Oh she was so happy. Played again the day one.... on day two when batteries needed replaced again... no charge. it only works for like a day. the motor will not push enough air after the first battery replacement. we took this one back and bought something else. DO NOT buy a flutterbye. Total waste of money. As my girl said, "they smashed my dreams of owning my own fairy" in tears.

not worth your money
By grandma Lynn
Was difficult to control. Poorly made, I bought one for each of my granddaughters for Christmas they were no longer working by the end of the day.. My granddaughter got one tangled in her hair very hard to untangle it.

My 7 year old saved her money to buy this. The first time she flew it, it fell down and a wing broke off. It pops back on, but falls off easily. Despite having brand new batteries (twice), it never spins very fast. It is a waste of money, my daughters money.

This is the worst product, it never worked out of the box. If I had kept the box I would have returned them. My girls got them for a gift, we followed all the directions and troubleshot the dolls. They still never worked. Waste of money don't buy it bless you want an upset child.
