I just picked up this set, along with the Black gate, and I am very pleased with it. I'll talk about each part individually. The council room -3 spinning chairs, with stickers on the back rests -golden table for the ring -great NEW orange leaf pieces -'launching' mechanism for when Gimli tries to destroy the ring with his axe -Under the 'launching' mechanism is a sticker of the eye of Sauron(to represent the movie scene right after Gimli's axe makes contact with the ring, when the eye of Sauron flashes across the screen for a second) The...weaponry(?) room -Nice little weapon stand that holds two weapons -great NEW arch pieces -a small tree growing out of the side of the building with another NEW orange leaf piece -the staircase is a bit fragile, and will fall off Frodo -AMAZING NEW face(honestly, one of the best parts of the set. The worried/weary expression works very well for him) -Same old Frodo, other than that, but with no cape Gimli -Same old Gimli here, but with a different axe Elrond -Great dark red/gold robes -double colored cape(one side orange, the other crimson) -One happy, one angry face(different from video game exclusive Elrond) -rubber hair(sometimes sticks to the head) Arwen -teal dress, with silver highlights -double sided head(one smiling, one frowning) -rubber hair Overall This is a great set, and fairly cheap, so I recommend it. The Elrond and Arwen minifigs are great, as is the new face Frodo has. The set is best when you have the rest of the fellowship, but still playable without. Also, the set has 2 stings, 2 elven swords, 2 bows, and 3 rings. All in all, get this set!

The way this looks is stunning. The way it falls apart is, too. The pillars are constantly toppling like it's the end of Middle Earth, and the more you try to fix it the more Rivendale crumbles. We got it on a BOGO sale, and I'm not sure it's worth even half off. I don't know if we got a defective set because other reviewers make it sound sturdy, but I'm not willing to exchange it and build it over again. I've already rebuilt it enough! It's time for Superglue.

    Great,but...C'mon LEGO, more girls!

Comments about LEGO The Hobbit The Council of Elrond (79006):

Mostly I'm a Lego mom to a Lego obsessed 8yr-old. That said, I'm also a big LOTR fan and have a few LOTR and Hobbit Lego sets of my own. I love them all, details are great and mostly a good value. I look at these and see something that would have sent my childhood self into swoons of joy. But then I see something that I would have noticed as a kid, too. Where are the other female characters? I know there aren't many, but they're important. Where are Eowyn and Galadriel? This set has the only female LOTR character to be represented in Lego, and that alone makes it worth acquiring for any fan. It also makes it a little sad.

          Great Set

          By TONY22

Comments about LEGO The Hobbit The Council of Elrond (79006):

It is a great set with very cool minifigures especially Elrond who has a new type of cloak witch is red on one side and orange on the other. The stand for the ring is very detailed but i thin kit is not to scale with the rest of the set. I like the new orange leafs. As it is now the set is priced perfectly but i would have payed more if it was a bit larger and had more minifigs. Or at least you could buy a sepreat assesery with more people (maybe everone that was at the counsil of Elrond if it was not to much to ask). Butover allthis is an awsome set and glad i got it.

          Go Elrond !!!

          By Certius

          from Visalia

Comments about LEGO The Hobbit The Council of Elrond (79006):

The minifigures are the best part of this set. Elrond is my favorite minifigure of all time, but it's kind of weird that Elrond has a smiling face, since you hardly ever see him smile in the movies. Gimli and Frodo are the same as in other sets. Arwen is exclusive but I would rather have a different minifigure like Legolas. This set should include some minifigures that can sit on the chairs. The elven architecture is awesome, as are the autumn leaves. There were two elven sword/spear things and two bows included. The photo online shows a brick separator, but there wasn't one included in the set. Is that supposed to be included with the set? If not then why is it in the photo? Overall, this is an awesome set and it is well worth the money.

          "Bring forth the ring Frodo"

          By BobaFett99

          from Bega

Comments about LEGO The Hobbit The Council of Elrond (79006):

I bought this set along with some other Lord of the Rings sets recently. It has minimal scenery, but definitely contains enough to show that it is Rivendell, and despite being a non-combat scene contains a ton of weapons. I will talk about each part of the set seperately. Frodo - Frodo is basicly the same as every other version, but has a different head piece, with an angry exppression as opposed to the ppoisoned, in fear wxppression on previous versions. Other than that the same but without a cloak. Gimli - Exactly the same but with a different axe (Of course he does, this one gets smashed to pieces in the movie) Arwen - The first time she has been made as a minifigure. Every part of her is exclusive to this minifigure, with a new hair piece, and new light blue torso and ress pieces. She is armed with an elven bow. Elrond - Probably the highlight of this set, he is again all exclusive. He has a new hair piece, new printing on his torso and legs, as well as an awesome double sided cape. He is armed with one of those golden elven sword staffs. Council area - The first part of the set you build, it has the only function in the set, to launch Gimli and show the eye of Mordor hidden beneath it. There are three chairs with stickers for the backs, I only wish it came with spare stickers so you could replicate the chairs and make a bigger scene. The pedestol with the ring, although it looks awesome, is, i think at least, a bit to tall, as Gimli can't actually reach it to smash the ring with his axe. Despite this it contains some nice golden elements. The last part is the tree which has the great new red orange leaves for autumn. Armoury - I'm not exactly sure what this is supposed to be, but as it has the little weapons rack I'm guessing it is an armoury (You get two stings, two bows, two elven swords and an axe in this set). It definitely has the word Rivendell written all over it, with the white und tan colour scheme and the arches. It has a tree growing out of it with another of the exclusive orange leaf pieces. Over all this is a great set, but mostly for display, as there aren't really many play features. I only wish it came with extra seats to seat the fellowship and the lords of middle earth.
