Product Description

Y Velo Single Wheel Balance Bike is an innovative training bicycle that has no pedals or training wheels and is designed to help preschoolers learn how to steer and balance. It allows children to build the confidence they will need once they are ready for a more traditional bicycle with pedals - no training wheels required! Y Velo Balance Bike is so easy to ride, which makes it the perfect first bike. Children are seated so their legs can reach the ground comfortably. To get going, they simple walk to ride and then eventually run and cruise. Children can easily and safely control when they stop by placing their legs firmly on the ground. A built-in steering limiter also allows children to maintain control of how much they turn. The bike's tires provide a steady ride across many terrains, taking kids from the sidewalk to the board walk to the soccer field. Padded hand grips, an ergonomically designed seat and shock absorbing wheels give litte riders extra comfort. Y Velo Balance Bike features an adjustable seat and handle bars that grow with a child. Once your child has mastered the Y Velo, the transition from balance bike to a trditional bike with no training wheels is fun, safe and easy.

I bought this item for my 2yrs 8mo old grandson for Christmas. He already has two tricycles ... one with a push handle ... but he refuses to use the pedals. I know that he rides around on a little car with wheels that kids sit on and push with their feet on the ground so I thought that this would be a good way for him to learn how to balance on a two wheeler (any maybe want to pedal). He tried it several times and got the basic hang of it but then he and his Mom left the day after Christmas. I'll have to see how he does the next time he visits. Looks to be very sturdy, good construction ... had one piece left over when my husband assembled it and we never figured out where it belonged!!

We put the bike together and my 3 y/o daughter tried it out. Cute color and great to flat surfaces or indoors. Not good for uneven surfaces ("off-roading"). We ended up taking the bike back to the store, because my daughter was too tall for it. She is 42 inches with 18 inch inseam.

Comments about Toys R Us 1001325 Y Velo Single Wheel Balance Bike - Green:

Bought this for my son since he seemed to be out growing his push trike. Was deciding between this and a trike with pedals. Chose this to see if he could balance instead. We bought the green 3+ velo instead of the little blue one since he is a taller kid. He is 2 years and 2 months old. He loves it and can scoot along very quickly. The only thing that I would recomend better is the grips. I don't think the foam is going to last. Some video of him riding https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUhXEc9hXlQ

Comments about Toys R Us 1001325 Y Velo Single Wheel Balance Bike - Green:

4y/O daughter loves the bike! She is already balancing great! Lightweight. Easy to adjust seat height. Daughter still has room to move seat up so has lots if time left to use before growing to big for it. Drawbacks are no foot rests/pegs to put feet on when riding.

Comments about Toys R Us 1001325 Y Velo Single Wheel Balance Bike - Green:

This arrived quickly, and to my delight, was a breeze and 1/2 to put together. I'm pretty tool and building savvy - but you don't need to be. I had it up and cruising in 5 minutes. It is light and cool looking and my son loves it. He DID express some sadness because he wanted the "Blue One"...but the only blue one available was the smaller size, so I guess I wish there were more color choices. My only other "complain" is they should come even bigger, my older daughter would love one too!

Comments about Toys R Us 1001325 Y Velo Single Wheel Balance Bike - Green:

We just bought this bike for our 2 year old after my husband saw another version of this bike online. It's an interesting new concept in helping children learn to balance on a bike without using the traditional training wheels. So far my son just walks with it, but he seems to really enjoy pretending that he's riding a big bike, and he seems to at least be learning to steer and maneuver with it. I'll be curious to see how he does with it as gets older and a bit more comfortable with it.

Excellent bike to learn balance. My girl - 3 years old - loves it and run very fast on it. It will help her to learn how to ride a big bike. And a very strong product, nice design.

My husband and I purchased this energy burning device for our 22-month old son. We were looking for something akin to a hamster wheel, but ultimately found that two wheels are even better for burning energy. We haven't quite yet figured out how to hook up the contraption to feed back to the power grid, but are confident that we will have ability to have a Net Zero energy home until the toddler is at least 3 or 4 years of age. Works like a charm!

Comments about Toys R Us 1001325 Y Velo Single Wheel Balance Bike - Green:

My 3 year old needed something to replace his tricycle that he had outgrown so this bike seemed like a natural choice since he didn't really like the idea of pedaling. The first few times he rode I had to balance for him and push the bike so he would get the hang of pushing with his feet, but now he's starting to catch on and push with his feet and sit down more. Overall the reviews are pretty accurate-except for the person who read the description but clearly skipped the picture. Really? A unicycle? Nonetheless it was a great purchase that I would recommend to anyone ready to graduate from a trike.
