Product Description

Kids love to chat on the phone and this classic, roll-along pull-toy with a friendly face, and eyes that move up and down when the toy is pulled along makes it even more fun!

Since 1930, Fisher-Price has been in business to create toys that fascinate and stimulate a child's imagination. Fisher-Price was founded in 1930, hardly the best time to launch a new business as the shadows of the Depression still loomed over American business. Still, Herman Fisher, Irving Price and Helen Schelle combined their diverse manufacturing and retailing experience to create a toy company and confidently brought 16 wooden toys to the International Toy Fair in New York City. The whimsical nature and magical surprises of those first Fisher-Price toys quickly caught on and became the hallmarks of Fisher-Price ever since. Fisher-Price believes in the potential of children and in the importance of a supportive environment in which they can grow, learn, and get the best possible start in life. Fisher-Price supports today's families with young children through our breadth of products that includes GeoTrax, Imaginext, Little People, Laugh and Learn, Thomas the Tank, Thomas and Friends, Elmo, Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go, Sesame Street, Smart Cycle, Ni Hao Kai-Lan, Toy Story and other learning toys and pretend play items.

  • Imaginative Skills Early role play as they pretend to talk
  • Classic pull toy with a friendly face

I understand the possible frustrations about the short cord. But face it: anything longer is considered a strangulation hazard and in today's world full of law-suits no manufacturer is going to make anything with a longer cord and sell it for little children). Both of my daughters enjoyed this phone VERY much. We have several toys which have strings to be pulled around but this phone and FP's puppy toy (also a great basic/classic toy) were always their favorite. They often talked with the phone on the table in front of them, me holding the phone in front of them while playing together, when they got older they pretended to chat with friends while laying on the carpet on their tummies... they didn't seem to mind that short cord at all. I appreciated that the toy was not noisy, was very economical, didn't need any batteries, was a lot of fun for several years,

Maybe I'm imagining what mine did, but it's been over 30 years. I remember T&C he eyes moved when it was dragged. It seems like a cheapened version of the original. I was going to let my 10 mo. old have it, but it has a really long string that he wants to eat and there's no way to temporarily hide it or remove it. My husband pointed out that he'll have no idea what it is either. Telephones don't look like this any more. This is a toy for parents.

                Comments about Fisher-Price 1001124 Fisher-Price Chatter Telephone:

My daughter always loves playing with her grandfathers work phone. So I thought this would be a great addition to her toy collection. The only thing I would change is the length of the phone cord. If she tried to "answer" the phone, the entire toy comes off the ground. I figured it was for safety precautions so as not to become a choking or strangling hazard. But the red cord attached is twice as long so I wasn't sure. I just snipped the phone off and now it's easy and accessible for her. I will note she is almost 2 so the issue may more be the age range for the toy. Other wise she loves to pull it around and turn the dial. She especially loves the google eyes :)
