The monitor is a great idea and I use it a lot until my neighbord told me that she always watched my baby every night before going to bed and also let me know that sometimes hear all my conversations. I was freak out because I have the camera always ON in my master room (just imagine)! Proof of that was that when I turn OFF the handheld monitor I saw my neighbord daughter. I do not recommend this item until they fix this privacy problem.

We absolutely LOVE this monitor. We have never had any problems with seeing another baby on the monitor, but did have a problem with "static". After about 4 months, the monitor would make this loud clicking noise when the volume was on. It wasn't static, but still extremely annoying and I couldn't use it with the volume, which means I couldn't use it very much. I called Summer Infant and explained the problem, and they sent me a brand new one, which took about a week. They stand behind their products, so any of you other reviewers who aren't happy, call them. We're so pleased with this monitor, we recommend it to everyone.
Also, don't leave the monitor on the charger all the time, it'll kill your battery life. Only charge it when it's low.

This monitor never showed a picture on the screen. The sound worked but we registered for this specific monitor because of the screen. We were not happy at all and they let us return it past the return date because it was off the registry. We now use a very cheap sound only monitor and it is great!!!

We have used this monitor for over 3 years and it still works great. My husband clips it on him and takes it everywhere with him. It has been dropped several times and still works great. The sound and picture are great! I don't know how anyone survives without one! We have recommended it to everyone and 3 of our family members have bought it and also a friend. Everyone raves about it. We love being able to see what she is doing when she is making noise, sick or when she is trying to get out of bed! We are on baby #2 and will be buying another one! Hopefully they last until they are 16 :)

I enjoyed the picture, sound, quietness of controls and the wireless feature. However, there was a lot of static/interference which drove me crazy, especially when I was trying to sleep at night. It then died right at the 7 month mark.

The idea of this product is great because we're always at different places in the house so we can take the handheld screen anywhere. From the beginning, we have been able to see other people's babies on our screen. I understand that is common because of signals crossing. However, from the beginning, we have gotten a blank screen every once in a while. While the sound still works, the screen won't work for a while. It's too late for us to return it. Unless the company works on this issue, I wouldn't recommend it.

We use this product every single day and night when baby is napping or down for the night. It is so nice to just be able to look at the monitor to make sure he is alright instead of having to keep going in his room. The only reason why it gets 4 stars and not 5 is because when its not plugged into the outlet it has a tendency to die very quickly so it really needs to be plugged in to work 100%, other than that this has been our savior!!!

Hello: First the good - monitor has a picture. Here is the bad - static on monitor 15 feet from camera (I am not exaggerating); if you lean the monitor back on the stand, it will make a high pitch hiss, stand straight up and it stops (but remember to stay within 15 feet of camera); picture only stays on 10 mins when on battery, a pain; forget going out of the house and hearing anything and of course no picture. We bought this item based on the reviews here and I cannot determine why anyone would think this is a good monitor. [...] This is a bad product, please avoid.

We have a 6 week old and I love this product. It sets my mind at ease that she is fine. I can put her in her crib at night and fall asleep w/o worrying that something is wrong. I just hit the button and see what is going on. The only issue is that often times there is minor interference which makes the sound often loud and annoying. I almost want to have another baby to watch another monitor.

I received this two and a half years ago when my daughter was born. We have used it ever since. During the night it is plugged in next to our bed. During the day we take it downstairs and in the basement with us. Picture is always very clear. We love it now that she is in her big girl bed and we can continue to check on her.

I did have problems with the battery not lasting very long right around the two year mark. However, I called the company and then sent me a new battery for about $10. We haven't had any problems since! I highly recommend that all my friends who are expecting get one!
