We bought this gate to go in front of our sliding glass door so that our daughter wouldn't play with the track and bang on the glass all the time. It works great! We were even able to extend it and angle it to go around our Christmas tree last year (which was in a corner) so that she couldn't get to the ornaments and presents, and it was awesome! We're buying another one to connect with the one we already have because we now need a 14.5' space blocked off. The only thing that's not great about it is that because it's meant to be able to angle in different directions, it's somewhat easy to move, even when you tighten the knobs, but it doesn't move enough to be concerned. We mounted it on the walls on both sides and that's plenty to keep it safe. The mounting instructions are easy to follow.

The gate/room divider allows us to separate our baby and our Golden Retriever puppy whenever needed (baby is napping, feeding, etc). It was easy to install and looks really nice in our house; we have received several nice comments about how it looks. The screen allows our puppy to sit on one side and still see everything that is happening in the next room, which helps keeps him calm. It is a sturdy product and has a nice gate/ latch. We strongly recommend the product.

Great gate if you can get it intact. (No longer sold in stores.)
I taped the broken original I bought at Toys R Us (Which we loved.)back together because every new one I have ordered is broken on delivery! (I tried 3 times before giving up!)
The new model has smaller components and seems less sturdy than the older model. (As evidenced by being broken on delivery, though it could just be bad packaging.)
The original (and I presume a new one that is intact) is a great solution for large openings and it provides the pass through gate.

We got two of these when BRU was having a BOGO half off sale. It creates a large octagonal space for our little boy to play inside. He's 10 months and pulling up on EVERYTHING so we were worried about gates tipping over but this is solid! Plus, he likes the mesh (and so do we!) easy to see him and he can push his face against it and not get scratched unlike some of the harder plastic ones. The doors open and shut with a little but of difficulty but that's to be expected to keep kids from figuring it out(but both the hubby and I are tall so we usually end up swinging a leg over the side. We both agree this is probably one of the best purchases we've made for the baby.

we bought this gate to fit an opening of 91 inches. The gate did not collapse down enough to fit the 91 inch opening without having the gate curve out. The gate should form a straight line when collapsed and exapnded but it did not. When we called customer service, they were, of course, closed. Will not be buying any more of Summer's gates.

Purchased this gate to block off a large portion of the basement of our new home so our 19-month-old would have a safe place to play while I run on the treadmill (also in the basement). Several thoughts:
1. We needed exactly 142 inches to block off the space we wanted to use. This gate is advertised as up to 144 inches. The product in the box was 140 inches, a full FOUR INCHES shorter than advertised. Rather than driving 30 miles to return the thing (and come back empty handed since it seems there are no comparable products on the market) my husband was able to "jury rig" this gate into working using extra long screws on one side.
2. This gate is NOT sturdy and quite flimsy, especially with a toddler. Since it was shorter than advertised, only one end is screwed into a wall stud. The other is attached with the anchor bolts that came with the gate, and still easily loosened by my son.
3. The swing gate portion isn't secure at all. Last night my son (19 months) was able to just push the gate open without even touching the latching mechanism. We had to use a pad lock on two of the rungs to keep it closed.

In short, I would not recommend this product, and if there was an alternative, I'd return this in exchange for something else in a heartbeat!

Worked great until He got got into the habit of yanking on it now the pivot points arent able to be tightened and the handle pops open when he pulls on the gate. Looking for sturdier replacement for a 8.5 foot opening to kitchen will not replace with the same.

Product works just like it says. I bought two because I needed a certain configuration. It only minutes to put up. Just wish it was sturdier. It is a tad bit flimsy. However it does keep my one year old from accessing the stairs.

We got this gate and it seemed great. Very long and versatile! However it broke in two places under normal use. The 2nd one we bought to replace it was broken in multiple places during shipping. Since the design had changed slightly, (smaller attachment pieces which is what broke) and it is built with brads and not regular screws, we could not even piece two together to make one working gate. Now we are using a "super yard" fence held in place by chairs. Pretty sad.

My daughter's house has basically an open floor plan in the living romm and kitchen area. As the baby started to crawl, she was getting into everything. All of the openings that could be sectioned off for her to safely play in were very wide and did not conform to any standard size that a typical baby gate would fit in. The custom fit baby gate was the ONLY gate that I founf that both was secure and see-through so mom could view everything that was happeneing at all times while she was using the kitchen. It also has it's own gate so she didn't have to take it down or bend over it to take the baby out. Best purchase ever!
