My dad bought us this chair and ottoman a few months before our baby arrived. I tried sooo many different chairs before finally choosing this one. At first, it was absolutely perfect! So soft and cushiony...and rocked like a dream. However, over a few months, I noticed it started making a creaking noise. It started off soft, but now, six months later, it's sooo loud and annoying! I can't even rock my baby to sleep in it since it's so loud! I oiled all the hinges thinking that maybe the noise was coming from them rubbing...but I had a feeling it wouldn't help because the sound is like a wood creaking sound, and not a metal sound. It's clearly the actual frame of the chair, which is made of wood and is obviously poorly constructed! I plan to call BRU and hope they will do something about this since it was an expensive chair that I envisioned using with at least one more baby, and also having it for many years to come. Overall, if you want a cushioned chair like this one for your nursery, shop around at other furniture stores that make quality pieces that will last you! I wish I would have done that now!

I bought this chair one month before my daughter was due. It's pretty, soft, comfortable, and goes great with the nursery. But now, out of no where, it has started making this loud, awful creaking noise. My baby is only 6 months old! I always rock her to sleep and now it takes longer and the sound is VERY annoying. I've tried turning the chair in different directions and even rocking with my feet up on the ottoman, but that just changes the sound to a different annoying sound. I am calling Babys R Us tomorrow and hopefully they can offer me a solution. This chair was not inexpensive. I imagined I would be rocking in it for years to come as I read my children bed time stories. Now I just want it out of here. :(

Beautiful chair, very comfortable for those looong nights spent rocking. Fabric is soft and cozy, rocking action is smooth, and the over all size is compact enough to fit any nursery yet the ideal size to fit mom and baby comfortably. Down side is keeping the white fabric clean...but that goes for any white furniture.

We like the look and the feel of the chair, but the chair is so noisey. It rocks without noise for less than a year and then is starts to squeak and then after that ever time we rock it sounds like the chair is going to fall apart. We were able to get a new base for the chair, and that worked for a while. Then, the same thing happened. The noise is so loud that we have a hard time rocking in it. The noise is so loud that we will probably have to buy a different chair at a different store. So, in the end this was a huge waste of money. No one should buy this chair even at half the price!!!!!

This chair was perfect for our nursery. There were many nights of sleeping in my daughter's room and this chair was so comfortable. I would definitely get the ottoman as well. She loves rocking when she is fussy and this chair does the trick for both of us to fall asleep! It goes with alot of nursery decor and is easy to clean. I don't regret this purchase at all!

This chair looks beautiful in my baby daughter's nursery! It fits nicely even though the room is not very big. Even though she isn't here yet (5 weeks to go!) I have already spent a bit of time rocking in it and dreaming of baby! I can't wait to rock her in it and I expect we will get years of story time out of this chair! It is so soft and comfy. It is also very quiet, it does not squeak at all. I did not notice any fabric defects like some other reviewers mentioned, my chair is great! [...]

We received this as a gift for the birth of our first child. It is very comfortable and good looking. I find it to be sturdy although the ottoman that matches has had bolts come out twice. When we had the chair steam cleaned the color faded and the fabric started to pill. I am keeping it for the comfort and plan on having it reupholstered for the birth of my third child.

We have had this chair for 1.5 years and we adore it! I am short (5-2) and my husband is average height (5-10) and we both like it. My sister has the same one and says it's like rocking on a cloud! It is so soft and cushy and has stayed clean, despite lots of use and even dark-haired pets! It's nice to have the gliding motion-my daughter is a "waker-upper" and we have spent many late nights rocking her (and falling asleep ourselves!) Do yourself a favor and get the ottoman, too. As a busy parent, to put your feet up and rock all at the same time is grand! They both fit in a big room or even a small one. (we have both) We will probably be getting another chair for baby #2's room, since it's so nice to have in both girls' rooms as they grow. We will be reading bedtime stories for many years to come in them. Waaaaay better than the wooden gliders for sure!
