I wish Learning Curve would sell these pieces separately so you don't have to spend a fortune on a whole box. Anyone who has invested in Thomas the Train Wooden Railway quickly discovers how expensive it can be if you are not careful in what you purchase. I waited for this to go on sale before I bought it.

It didn't seem to have many pieces of train track in that big box and I was immediately disappointed. However, the shapes and configurations that my 4 and 8 year old sons are able to construct with those additional pieces is amazing and impressive. I am glad we bought them. It encourages creativity.

My two year old son has simply fallen in love with the whole Thomas theme. The expansion pack works with the two existing tracks we have and has expanded his fun. With the easy of assembly, he is already trying to put the track together himself in different configurations.

My son is Thomas obsessed and we needed more expansion piece so that he could "change lines". This pack worked great, just what we needed. It also comes with a blue print sheet of different ways to build a new track...one can only make a circle so many hundred times :)
Bottom line...it's Thomas, what's better than Thomas?!?!?

Our second Imaginarium set to go with the figue 8 track. Out 3 y.o daughter is playing with it a lot. This would be best bought as a third or later set, as we are lacking straights and basic building blocks - Next Purchase!!!! Get the basics first, then the funky bits later. I like the all wood construction, solid. With all the cool pieces now, I wish I had some of the of these unique pieces when I was a kid. I would have been too busy playing to go to bed....
