fun! and if used in a quiet space easily heard. I wear hearing aids and I can hear it fine. I was looking for one that had multiplication and division and I thought I would write a review. I also think it would be great if it had a visual spot where the equations are shown and an option where the kids can just fool around and make own euations or just learn their numbers if they are toddlers. The 5 year old loves it and so do her older brothers who know their facts!

My older children are visual learners. The mat's problems are voiced and there is no visual screen or anything to show the problem. If it had this I think it would be more enjoyed. My toddler loves it. He likes to just step on it and have it talk. But the game stops if the right answers are not given. I wish it had a super easy version where it just said what numbers were stepped on. Then my baby would learn from it also.

could be a little larger, the volume is not loud enough, and answers need to be delayed a little longer for the child to think about the answer.

      Simply educational & fun

Comments about Learning Resources Math Mat Challenge Game:

I purchased this item for my grandson who is four years old. We were very excited when we open the box and everything was ready to play except for batteries. Once we put batteries in he was able to play the game without any instructions. The volume was easy to hear. He loved running around stepping on the correct answer. He loved the question mark, it allowed him to have the question repeated. This is an an excellent resource to enhance learning. When it is fun they enjoy it more. I will certainly recommend this to everyone in my circle that have children or grandchildren. He could play alone or with someone else.

      Fun! Durable?

Comments about Learning Resources Math Mat Challenge Game:

My four year old got this for Christmas and loved it! He loves math and jumping around, so perfect for him. His two-year old sister loved it too, she just played the find the number game, and she did fine. She would ask for it first thing in the morning- first words out of bed - "numbers! Numbers!"

But as you may have noticed I speak of it in the past tense. It stopped working maybe a month after we got it. But they loved it so much hoping that it was just a fluke. Considering repurchasing. If the second one breaks will update this review.

Comments about Learning Resources Math Mat Challenge Game:

I originally went to the Learning Resources website to look at the cash register for my 3 year old granddaugter and saw the Math Mat Challenge Game. After reading the reviews, I ended up buying not only the cash register but 2 of the Math Mats for grandsons. One grandson is 6 and in Kindergarten and the other is 4 1/2 and in preschool. The boys are cousins and opened the gifts at different Christmas gatherings, but their reactions were similar. Once they were told what kind of game it was and what was involved, they wanted to play it immediately. Both love games, math and jumping, so it was a natural! Even with the difference in ages, the Math Mat was fun for each of them due to the different games and levels of play. Each grandson was able to play it by himself but it was also fun for older siblings and adults to play with them if they needed help. I like that they are learning and improving their math skills but having fun and being active at the same time.

I love this game as do my students. It involves so many different skills, listening, following directions, number sense, in a fun activity.
Mine is wearing out, after many years of use, so I am getting a new one

my kids are so bored with this mat. also it is too quiet for them to hear what it is saying. i'm going to put it away and bring it out in a few months, and if that doesn't work then it is off to goodwill....

              Active Learners Loving Math

              By Lisa D.

              from Metro Detroit, MI

Comments about Learning Resources Math Mat Challenge Game:

My son and his friends LOVE this game! It's like the Spider Stomp at Chuck E Cheese's with math facts. At first it was a challenge between the kids to get the equations right; now the challenge is to get them all right in as little time as possible (they just have their own mental timers, I guess). They could play together (eg, who stomps on the right answer first or assign 0-4 to one child and 5-9 to another or whatever) but they each prefer having the whole mat to himself, so they take turns.
The sound box has not been an issue for us; keeping younger siblings away while olders play has been our biggest challenge.
