The Hasbro Connect Four Game features five different games all in one! For the original game, drop your checkers in the grid and try to be the first to get four in a row to beat your opponents. Another version, known as Pop Out, helps you get four in a row by popping a checker out rather than dropping one in. Pop 10 begins with the grid full of checkers. You gradually pop the checkers out and if they are part of a four-in-a-row, you get to keep them, with the winner being the person who keeps 10 checkers first. Power Up lets you use the Power Checkers to pop out your opponent’s pieces or an entire row. Use the wings on the side to play the last version, five in a row, and be the first person to get five checkers all in a row. Included in the game are the lockable grid, the top locking mechanism and the game base for stability.
Features
Original version
The original version of the game lets you drop the checkers into the top of the grid. Be the first to get four in a row to win!
Pop Out version
The Pop Out version of the game helps you get four in a row by popping one of your checkers out. Rather than putting a checker in the grid, you can choose to pop it out to win.
Pop 10 version
The Pop 10 version begins with the grid full of checkers. Pop them out, and if your pieces are part of a four-in-a-row, you get to keep them. The first person to get to 10 checkers wins.
Power Up version
The Power Up version includes Power Checkers that you can use to pop out one of your opponent’s checkers or an entire row. This adds to the challenge of creating four in a row and increases the length of the game for more fun.
Five-in-a-row version
The last version, five in a row, uses the wings to add an extra challenge to the game. The first one to get five in a row will win the game!

Connect Four! Challenge a friend to checker-dropping fun with Connect 4!

There are three ways to play, so choose your game:

  • Original: Drop in your checkers and be the first to get 4-in-a-row to win
  • Pop Out: Get 4 in a row by popping a checker out instead of dropping one in!
  • Pop 10: Pop checkers out of the grid. If your checker is part of a 4-in-a-row, you get to keep it. The first player to get 10 checkers wins.


When you're done playing, tote your game around with a convenient carrying handle. The checkers store inside the grid so you're ready to play anytime!

Got this for my 3 year old and though he doesn't get the "connect four" part he has a blast just putting all the pieces in with mom and dad, and even by himself for quite awile of time. It does keep him occupied, and it's fun to just play with him even we aren't trying to get four in a row just yet. We've had it for about 6 months and he asks for it often and plays with it for a good amount of time each time.

The only downside is it has to be disassembled to put back in box, but it's easy to put together and take apart so it's not a big deal.

Note that in the example picture of the one with the box it shows an older version that has different "legs" on the sides to hold it up. The newer version is in the other example picture that has a circle base on the bottom with slightly different legs.

I bought this game to use in a mentoring group with kids from K-12. Fortunately, I tested it out before bringing it to the group. It's very cheap in quality. The chips keep falling out of the bottom while you're playing and the contraption on the bottom that releases the chips feels like it's going to break every time you use it. I found it to be a real exercise in frustration. I can see it getting broken after about 10 minutes of little kids playing with it. Previous editions of Connect 4 were much better in quality.

        I ordered this particular Connect 4 game for my 6 year old son because its colorful and has the oval base making easier to stand up. This is not the game I was sent. The one I received is black and has the original base legs which I always hated as a child because it was unstable. I will be returning it to the store to exchange for the one I originally ordered or return it for a refund.

                    Fun Game! Even better than the version I remember playing as a kid. Remember when the lock would accidentally slide out of place, and your whole game would come avalanching out of the bottom? A new system seems to have solved that problem completely. Combined with new features that allow different types of gameplay, this game is perfect. And at the price of [$], it's even better. Also doing a great job of teaching applications for counting, and spacial reasoning to my son. Love it.

                        My 6 and 7 year-old love tic tac toe, but both know all the tricks so they end up in a tie 98% of the time. This game has the same essence while increasing the difficulty. My kids have spent several hours since Christmas challenging each other and the adults in our family to some intense games. An inexpensive price, it gets more play than many more pricey games we have purchased over the years.
