Comments about Medela Symphony Breastpump:
this pukp is amazing, i used it at the hospital because my colestrom wasnt enough so i needed to force my supply to come in. my milk finally came in 48 hours after birth pulping every two hours on the dot for 20 minutes each time. i ended up not havig to supplement anymore because i had enough milk. thanks to this pump i barely had to use formula. i couldnt purchase the pump because of the price. if i could i would hands down. i will rent it when he is older ao i can e asily build a milk stash.

Best Pump Ever!!

About Me First Time Parent
I used this pump at the hospital while my baby girl was in the NICU. When we were able to come home I used a regular medela pump in style, it was so loud compare dot o the pump at the hospital, it did not have the 2-phase expression, and it took a long time. This is a very expensive pump, but if your. Re planning on having more than one child, and you plan on breast feeding for at least a year with each, it is well worth it. I know people that spend $3,000 + for an espresso machine! how munch more worth it is it to have a great sand convenient device that will help feed you r child for the first year(s) oft heir loves?!!!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

About Me Parent of Two or More Children
My son was born with a condition called gastroskesis and is currently getting all his nutrition via IV in the NICU so I have to pump and freeze my milk in the meantime. The Symphony is the pump they use at the hospital so that's what I've been using for the most part (also using the Medela Harmony and Freestyle Advanced at home). This pump is simply amazing! It's quick, quiet, painless, and I'm able to produce quite a large amount with it. I just started using the other Medela pumps since I got home a couple days ago and they're working very well also, but I truly believe that using this pump solely for the entire first week has played a huge part in helping me to produce as well as I am. The cost is quite a bit, but you can't really put a price tag on being able to provide for your baby! :)

The Best Pump!!
By Luke's Mom
from Erie, PA
My baby was born at 28 weeks. I was not able to try to nurse him till 8 weeks old. In the meantime I had access to the symphony while he was in the NICU. I was able to established a great milk supply. About 4 oz every 3 hours for the 96 days he was hospitalized. Once he came home I purchased the Medela Pump n Style Advanced. This is nothing compared tp the Symphony. I am not able to get any milk out. Over time with issues with the baby nursing my milk supply has reduced. I am going try to rent the symphony and hope it restores my milk supply

Due to latching problems, I have been exclusively expressing since my daughter was born.I had purchased a Medela Freestyle prior to birth which I had used during the first 4 1/2 weeks. I was only able to express about 16oz a day which was not enough to keep up with my daughter's intake. We had to supplement.I'm actually renting the Symphony as I feel the cost of rental for the time I'll be renting will be cheaper than out right buying.Since I've been using the Symphony, I'm now averaging 30 oz a day and no longer need to supplement. The Freestyle seems to just tear up my nipples. I had very bad nipple pain as it was just very hard on them. The Symphony is much more gentle and am no longer in pain. The only thing I really dislike (which is regardless of the pump) are the Medela breast shields. I think they do contribute to the pain. I have switched to a different manufacturer's breast shield as it is a lot more comfortable and also helps reduce the pain.I definitely recommend this pump for anyone who is exclusively expressing.

Well worth the money
By Missy the scared mom

I was in Rochester with my daughter and I was using this pump. I was able to supply my daughter with the amount she was needing and I was able to increase amount as time went by. This pump really made the process a whole lot easier and spared me additional time it would have taken with any other pump I tried! Definitely would recommend this product to every beginning mother!
