Before my 6 month old was born, we received the Mustela Newborn gift set as a gift. We have been hooked since! We use this lotion everyday, since it tends to be very dry here. It is very moisturizing without being too heavy or greasy. I do agree that it has a strong smell, and I have to admit I was leery about putting it on my LO when she was newborn. I had heard only good things from other mommies, and she has had no reactions to it whatsoever and I love the smell! Everyone always comments on how good and clean she smells. I buy this for every baby shower gift I have to buy!

This lotion smells wonderful, it soothes dry and irritated skin right away. We live in a dry area, my baby's skin was so dry ... She is allergic to the aveeno products so I was at loss as to what to do. She got her baby skin back after 3 days using this lotion. It gives her a nice and clean baby smell far from the industrial feel you get from the regular Johnson and Johnson brand.

I have heard so many good things about Mustela, so I finally got some for my daughter's sensitive skin. I was so shocked at the strong fragrance! I have bought numerous sensitive skin products for her, but none of them smell strong! Most are fragrance-free and this is certainly not! It's not even a natural smell. It is very flowery and reminds me of my grandmother's perfume. Not something I want my sweet little girl to smell like. I can't even use it for myself! I am really surprised at all these reviews that give it a "lovely smell" comment. No way.

I really looooove how his lotion smells but after putting it on my 6 month old it made her skin red, scaly and dry. The same goes for the face lotion..it made her cheeks bright red and irritated and severely dry to the point of her skin peeling. I'm really disappointed as it claims that it is hypo-allergenic and for babies with sensitive skin. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because I really like the scent of it and am now using it for myself

These products can be confusing to read what they are for, but take time to read the description of each product. And you will fall in love. I first started using this product in 1996 on my 3rd baby. He was very sensitive to products and got baby acne on other products. Once I started to use this product he no longer had rash. The other Mustella procducts are AWESOME. The newborn foam wash took away cradle cap. The baby wipes allowed me not to use wet wash cloths. The wipes are expensive, but they work and are convenient. My 4th baby born in '03. I took PhysiObébé to the hospital since you do not need to rinse. It was great. Not sticky just perfect and he smelled so good for his visitors. So I bought the Derme Cleansing for bath wash, Foam shampoo, Hydre lotion, Hydre face. sunblock. Now the products are easy to find and are a must try for babies with sensitive skin. I give to all new moms as baby shower gifts because this product really works.

We received several Mustela products as shower gifts and love them (the 9Month products for me and the cold cream soap for baby are great!). I'm a bit of a product junky myself, so I guess I carried out this habit with baby and opened this, our 3rd lotion type... but I wish I hadn't! The odor is so strong... like a chemical smell! Definitely not something I want my baby smelling like, and b/c it smells like chemicals (the closest thing I can think of is cheap adult perfume), I have a hard time believing it's gentle enough for baby's skin. I put it in the laundry room of our apartment building where people take free stuff... it's still there days later. Surprising for a Mustela product, but I will never purchase again.

I love this Mustela lotion! We've used it on both of our toddlers since they were babies, and plan on using it for the coming babies, too! It smells divine, and I always end using a little on me, too. It's a great every day lotion for your baby!

After reading so many great reviews about this product I decided to fork over [$] for it. I have never used Mustela products before and the way they package these items you can't open it in the store to smell it. It smells SO STRONG I had to wash my hands several times just to tone it down enough to not be sick. I think the smell is more fitting for an older woman not a baby! I will never buy this again and will be returning the other unopened Mustela products I purchased as well for fear they all smell like this.
