I needed a budget globe for my classroom. After searching the internet and stores in my area this globe seemed to be the best value. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. Mountains are slightly raised and the plastic base seems to be better than some others I had seen. Overall I am very pleased with this product, but realize that it's not as good of quality as some of the more expensive models. I would recommend it for home use and for moderate classroom use.

        I bought this globe to help aid in homeschooling my kids. So far we really enjoy it. It's full of detail and information.

        It's what one would expect for the price. My only concern is the base. It's a bit wobbly and I don't feel it would stand up to any type of 'play' use. Also, if you plan on using this globe in it's detail...You may want to pick up a magnifying glass in order to see the small words.

            I ordered a basic globe for my granddaughter for Christmas. The globe was shipped in its original box which was placed inside a much larger box. There was no packing material inside the larger box so the globe box moved freely inside the larger box. Also, the directions that were supposed to be included were not there. My hunch...this was a returned item that was hastily shipped to me. I will have second thoughts about ordering online from Toys 'R' Us again.

              Item shipped... Opened and part was broken that holds the Globe..
              Called the store and rep said I could come in and pick a new one up. After searching and finally getting assistance no one could find the product. Sales person said they saw one on computer miles away from me. After paying a lot for shipping I wasn't about to drive from store to store and waste my gas after the person I spoke with said they had it at the Morena Store. I left and took my business elsewhere. I will not order again thru the Internet nor shop at the store. I'm glad I looked it over in time before Christmas!! I found a better globe elsewhere. I'm really disappointed I did not receive shipping costs back! There you have it if you do care.

              Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

                          We love this globe our first of many to come! As we watch some of our favorite shows on Animal Planet or Discovery Channel, we race to the globe to find out where they are then each of us has to do some investigation into the surrounding areas! Our mommy daughter bookclub uses it to find where the story is taking place and where authors and illustrators are from. Light weight durable and easy for young and old hands alike!
