Operation is a great game for two or more people to play. However, at 36 years old I didn't realize the "old style" Operation was a thing of the past. This "new style" Operation is FAR easier than the old style, which is disappointing. My 4 year old had little problems getting all items out. I timed myself and got all items out in 31 seconds. I'm just sad to see the old, more challenging one, go.

I remember this game being fun and challenging. When my wife came home with it I was pumped to play a round with my 4 yr old son. They have made this classic game so easy that my son has yet to hit the edge. Well I guess this is the way we raise kids now. Everyone gets a trophy

Terrible. Buy the original model.

By JS

Comments about Hasbro 1001119 Operation Board Game:

Don't waste your money. The holes on the game are so big that it's not challenging for kids of any age group. Buy the original which took some skill for children to perfect.

Comments about Hasbro 1001119 Operation Board Game:

Do not buy this! Buy an old version! It is impossible to hit the edges. They made the holes giant.

Comments about Hasbro 1001119 Operation Board Game:

Is this product a newer version? New look and concept of game useful for thinking, conversation and enhancing learning skills. Think older version of product suited product concept better than this version or maybe too long ago too rate comparison of products. All versions of product should be available as option for purchase. Great item then and now. Would highly recommend product to others.

    What is this trash?

    By Atheist101

Comments about Hasbro 1001119 Operation Board Game:

What is this trash? This is not operation or even close to it. The holes are made so larger there is no challenge what so ever. Kids played it once and never touched it again. Not a single one hit the sides. You'd have to have Parkinsons to actually fail. The real one was truly difficult and took some skill. Also what's with the pieces? I'd hope the kids could get a little bit of anatomy out of it. Who has a cell phone in their ribs? It's terrible and I do not recommend this. Look for the original and stick with that.

Comments about Hasbro 1001119 Operation Board Game:

After arriving home from a hunt to relive some old memories, I opened the package and got it all set up. The game didn't look the way it did when I was a kid (I noticed the box looked different in the store, but didn't pay close attention I was so excited.) The holes were bigger, pieces were different, but oh well--I tried it anyway. 45 seconds later I was done. What ??? Have we come to a point in society where we have to dumb EVERYTHING down? Wake up people and realize that this game used to be a challenge for kids and adults alike. It also used to have a louder buzz and more of a shock. Are we too sensitive to that as well? And what happened to the pieces? I thought they all used to be bones, but I could be mistaken. Now Sam has a radio and game controller inside him. This is not how you make a connection with kids. Make it fun and challenging. Kids today can operate smartphones, so I'm sure they can handle a little challenge and a shock once in a while.

        Too Easy

        By grnCtrtl27

        from Harrisburg, PA

Comments about Hasbro 1001119 Operation Board Game:

My daughter received this as a gift for her birthday. I was so excited because I loved operation as a kid, however I was quickly disappointed because the game is too easy. The holes to remove the pieces are so large now, its unlikely you'll touch the side while removing any of the pieces. Hoping to find an old style operation game, which will be a challenge.

Far too easy and such a disappointment my son had no challenge with this game. Nothing like the fun christmas present I was expecting to give him.

On a side note, if like us you have been stuck with a game that is no challenge for the players...wrap the pieces in foil and make the most of it. Just did it and my son is now saying it's too hard. Now this is more like I remember it! :)

This game is a joke. I had the real version when I was younger. I purchased this version for my 5 year old son to improve his coordination and to watch his reaction to hitting the sides while picking something out of Sam. I hit it once while not paying a attention...every other time, there was no problem whatsoever. Spend your money elsewhere. I would argue his one year old sister could be just as successful. I know I did not have to try at all!
