This was a gift to my son for his 2nd birthday. Since he is interested in books and in music, he likes this product. He likes pushing the buttons and naming the shapes of the buttons. It allows him to interact but I don't think he'll be able to do that for a year or two. Also, I often have to put the books back in for him because it has to be in a specific way to work. He does enjoy it though and it's nice in the car too to keep him occupied in his car seat. I saw others complain they couldn't find more books but I feel like the three books is a pretty good value and my son probably doesn't need more than that.

My daughter got this for her 1st birthday. It's a really great idea, but it needs some imprvements. for one, the books are very easy to remove, and she can't really play with it by herself because she pulls the boks out whne she tries to turn the pages. I think if they made it to where there is some way to lock the books in it would be a much better product. Also, there should be an on/off button. It wouldn't be so bad if when the book was closed it just made sounds, but it does the demo over and over again, VERY annoying. However, my daughter does enjoy it, and I would say that the only major problem is the books not locking in. If you don't mind replacing the books every couple of seconds, its a good buy. Also, if you sit and use the book with the baby it is much better, thats what I usually do. She just gets mad when she wants to play by herself and the books fall out.

18 mo old digging it

Comments about Publications Internationa My First Story Reader - Baby Einstein Book:

My 18 mo old has really been liking this toy recently. He likes the music and is starting to try to sing along. The music is pleasant. At one point we did have to put it away because we were sick of hearing the same songs over. The books do come out too easily and he can't get them in right by himself very well. It does do some annoying things like repeat "the batteries are low and need to be replaced" even when they work for a long time.

There are not instructions and the buttons don't work. The only part that works is "goodbye" when you pull the book out. Very disappointing birthday present!!!

Comments about Publications Internationa My First Story Reader - Baby Einstein Book:

My daughter got this as a third birthday gift. It took a short while for her to learn how to keep the books in place in the reader...I can;t believe this is recommended for kids UNDER 3 !! There is no way younger kids will be able to keep the book set properly in the reader for it to work. She likes to dance to the music on each page, and repeats the sentences, sometimes just at random times during the day.
It sure would be better if the book would somehow securely click into the reader.

My son got this toy for christmas and I thought it would be a big hit but the books do not stay in at all- even for me. It is so frustrating for both of us. Also, the books are not very interesting so it does not keep his attention anyway...

The book falls out so easily, my daughter received this for her 1st birthday and all she did was push the same button over and over and chew on the books that got destroyed because they aren't made for babies that young. I cant believe it says 6mo and up. I got rid of it a few months after I bought it. The stories are also too short and theres NO volume control and no off switch so when it's closed you can still press the annoying buttons.
