These sleep sacks are great for newborns and early months, but once baby starts rolling over and wanting to move around, they are too restrictive. They were a perfect alternative to a blanket the first few months.

Used for sleep. I started using this when the baby would begin to roll around in the crib. He would wrap his blanket around his face and I needed something that could continue to be comfortable and keep him warm. It's great and still allows mobility without restricting him in the night.

I don't know if the organic cotton and fleece versions of the sleepsack are simply better quality material because we used those (love them) with no problem, but... When I started using our medium non-organic cotton sleepsack the neck stretched out after a few uses. I noticed that it was definitely big enough for my son's head to slip inside. He is only 3 1/2 months old, but he is 20 lbs if he's an ounce and really too long for the small size. For now, I have moved back to small and I'm going to look for organic cotton medium sleepsacks. I recommend the organic cotton over fleece, too, even in winter, because it's so much more breathable and if more warmth is needed you can just tuck a small cotton blanket around baby inside the sack. The blanket stays inside just fine. Overheating is a SIDS risk factor too.

Our son hated to be swaddled, so he slept in these sleepsacks from the time we brought him home from the hospital. We put him in a long-sleeve onesie underneath the sack, and it worked perfectly. We bought both small and medium, because he quickly became too long for the small size. In the winter months, we used the fleece sacks, and switched to cotton for summer. Once he started rolling around in his crib (5 months), we had to switch to footed pajamas, because he was getting twisted in the sleepsacks. I've seen now where they offer sleepsacks with legs, which is an excellent idea and would help when they start rolling around.

I've used these since my son got out of the swaddling newborn stage. Definitely gave me piece of mind that he was warm while sleeping without worries of being smothered by a blanket.

It's thinner than I expected. I have seen thicker ones. Since it is still snowing now (in April!), I will save it for summer and see how it works then.

HALO SleepSack is one of the greatest baby products out there. My son slept very well while wearing the sleep sack. The cotton is lightweight, so it is great to wear over a onesie or t-shirt in the summer, or over a sleeper in the winter. Since it zips from the bottom, diaper changes are a breeze. Awesome product!
