The price was right so I thought I would give it a shot. It is very easy to use with instructions in the box for certain types of effects. Just make sure you have the cables which can also be bought at Toys R US. You will need one for input to your guitar and one for output to your amp. Has a nice fuzz sound, and just fun to mess around with.

This is a cool pedal it is cheap and as good as a BOSS. So it does not come with a cord, I don't think all distortion pedals do. So if your getting this have two cables. it is easy to use and it even has presets on the box like "classic overdrive" for Led Zepplin or AC/DC. It is just cool end of story.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I've been playing guitar for 30 years. I had a big gig one night when I had some equipment problems the day of the event. I told a friend I need a distortion petal. It was short notice and not much money to spend. The friend came back with this first act petal. It impressed me with its ability and so simple to use. I've used much more expensive petals before that didn't function any better than this one. The other guys in the band were also impressed.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This pedal stinks because it doesn't come with the cord that you need to plug it into the amplifier. This makes it impossible to use without buying something else. It also needs a 9 volt battery. This wasn't what I expected, wanted, or needed and I will be returning it promptly.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
