We bought this for our four-month-old son to spice up tummy time. You're supposed or just have to blow up the outer rim of the whale and put water in it (to a designated full line, which was helpful) and be ready to roll, but that wasn't true for us. The final unmentioned step was spending half an hour trying (from the outside, mind you) to un-stick the sea creatures from themselves so they can float around. That was more of a pain than we thought, but for the price point, wasn't a huge deal. A day after we separated the creatures and put water in it, we noticed some black flakes floating around. Not sure what they are, but they are there to stay apparently (though I'm too lazy to change the water because it hasn't been that long). For the money, it has provided our son a lot of giggles and he loves it. When filled, it's still light enough to pay across his lap while he sits in his bouncer, so it has another use :)

- looked like the perfect tummy time toy for my 3mo old...- had to return because the objects that are supposed to float in the water stayed stuck together! One big floating stack is not as interesting as more than one....- if you find hem stuck together when purchasing at store, don't bother getting it because filling the toy with water does not help unstick the objects.- if they are already free-standing, as it were, yea---give it a shot! Try out this product! It might be a great toy for your kiddo...

Comments about Infantino 1001315 Infantino Pat & Play Water Mat:
My son (6 months old) loves this! He kicks it, slaps it, its so interactive, he realizes when he touches it the little fishies move around. Only down fall is its hard to completely fill up with water. Other then that its so much fun.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

About Me Trendy
I received this item as a gift. It isn't my son's favorite toy, as the objects seemed to stick together in the water so there wasnt much activity going on when he would try to play with it. Also, you need to change the water often or it will develop mold like mine did.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The little guy loves. His tummy time.

This toy is unfortunately just okay. I wanted to buy something that wouldn't make noise and still keep my baby engaged. The sea creatures that are in water all stick together and don't separate even with the water in there. It didn't hold the attention of my baby at all. She pushed on it and played with it for maybe 5 minutes and then was bored and on to something else.

This keeps my 7 months occupied for a little bit but some of the floating sea creatures tend to stick to each other.

supposed to be filled with water so the little one can push on it and watch things inside move around. Simple toy, great idea. The pieces inside all seem to be stuck together, even in water. Maybe if there were different sized objects it would work a little better
Looks like more fun then it is

About Me Stylish
I had issues separating the animals inside after I put the water in. I feel like if it was bigger and held more water the animals would move more.
A must have for tummy time
from Grand Rapids MI
I bought this for my 5 month old granddaughter who didn't like spending much time on her tummy. From the moment she put her hands on it she was hooked. Just fill it with water and the fish, whale and starfish capture the baby's attention. She never tires of it. She plays with it on her tummy, when she stands at a coffee table and on her tray/table when out for dinner. She loves making/watching the fish swim in the water. The head and tail of the turtle are filled with air which she loves to chomp on with her gums. This is the Turtle version made especially for Babies R Us. There is a smaller version, a whale, made by another company at Toys R Us. The whale is nice for taking out to a restaurant but the larger turtle is a must for tummy time. She has both. You can also start to introduce names of the creatures, colors, etc. as they grow. It is very high quality and a great baby gift. 6 months is the recommended age but I would introduce it earlier. Every infant should have the opportunity to interact with this fun toy. The only negative is that she doesn't like it when we take it away.
