this set is horrid. was not able to write what i really thought of this product. we could not get the set to stay together... the piece did not fit correctly. Went over the directions 5 times. with 3 people trying to do it... more frustration then it is worth. paid [$] for aggravation.

Comments about Imaginarium Spiral Train Set:

We got this for our 3 year old for Christmas. It lasted about 20 seconds and then it started to fall apart. The plastic towers do not line up with the track. She was so excited to get it out. As soon as she saw it coming apart every time she ran a train along she lost interest. Poor, unstable design. The price and number of pieces were attractive, but stick to Brio or Thomas brand. I hope this prevents you from looking at your disappointed child. Too bad you have to give it at least one star!

This train set is a good deal
By Matt from Denver, CO on 12/28/2009
Pros:
Attractive Design, Easy to Assemble, Easy To Operate, Fun, Quality Construction
Best Uses:
Imaginative Play
Describe Yourself:
First Time Parent
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Imaginarium Spiral Train Set:

All the whining parents on this board talking about it falling apart need to tell their kids not to be idiots with the train set. Does it come apart? Yes. Does it not come apart if you are putting some effort into not having it come apart? You bet.

falls apart easily
By unhappy mom and dad from Rochester, MN on 12/27/2009
Pros:
2 sided design
Cons:
Difficult to Assemble, Falls Apart, Flimsy, Poor Construction
Describe Yourself:
Education Oriented, First Time Parent
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Imaginarium Spiral Train Set:

We thought that this would be a great first train set for our 3 year old. It wasn't. Once it was put together it fell apart very quickly. Our son would cry when it would fall apart, so we taped it up as it broke. Finally, we gave up and put it away. We now have it set up as a set that doesn't look anything like what was on the box and it works okay. Definitely not the Christmas present we hoped that it would be. Should have done a little more research prior to purchasing.

You get what you pay for
By twintrainers from Saratoga Springs, NY on 12/25/2009
Pros:
Attractive Design, Fun
Cons:
Difficult to Assemble, Falls Apart, Flimsy, Poor Construction
Best Uses:
Young Children
Describe Yourself:
Parent Of Multiples (Twins etc)

Comments about Imaginarium Spiral Train Set:

I bought this for my 2 and a half year old twins. I couldn't put it together and when I did my kids knocked it over. So I broke out the glue gun and viola done! The only problem is you have to be careful the glue doesn't clump up around the joints because it will prevent the trains from gliding on the tracks. Overall my kids love it but if you have the money go for the more expensive tommy set.

Beware!!
By NJ Dad from Tenafly NJ on 12/25/2009
Pros:
Free
Cons:
Difficult to Assemble, Falls Apart, Flimsy, Poor Construction
Best Uses:
More work for dad
Describe Yourself:
First Time Parent, Stay At Home Parent
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Imaginarium Spiral Train Set:

There is NO WAY any kid can play with this toy unless it's glued together! If you don't get it for free, don't bother. Most of you have kids who have played with a similar set in stores. Your kids will be crushed when it falls apart at every touch. I also think some of the tighter turns don't work well with Thomas trains. Lucky me, I get to spend tomorrow setting and gluing while telling my 3 year old he can't play with it until the next day....

Describe Yourself:

Comments about Imaginarium Spiral Train Set:

It would not stay together.
Some of the thomas the trains were too tall to fit in the spiral. We even glued it together and it still wouldn't stay. It took up the whole table. We threw it away, we got it free with the table and I am glad that we didn't pay for it. Hope this helps someone save their money!

awful, awful quality
By Anna the busy mom from NJ on 11/20/2009
Pros:

Cons:
Difficult to Assemble, Falls Apart, Flimsy, Poor Construction
Best Uses:
Garbage filler
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

Comments about Imaginarium Spiral Train Set:

The product is awful quality, hard to put together, and once it is together it falls apart during the first play by the children.

It's extremely flimsy and uncomfortable to play with. I would not use it again even if someone paid me to do so.

Not worth a dime without track clips!
By GMom of 7 from Texas on 10/18/2009
Pros:
Attractive Design
Cons:
Falls Apart, Incomplete set buy clips
Best Uses:
Gathering dust
Describe Yourself:
Grandparent
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Imaginarium Spiral Train Set:

Buyer Beware! If you decide to buy any of these types of tracks, plan on buying the expensive track clips that hold them together;about$12. or $13. a box for 14 pieces.Last Christmas my 6 yr. old grandson was thrilled when he got this set.To go with it, I had made him an under the bed board (painted, etc)and had glued small reinforcement pieces under where each piece of track connects.Even so,it fell apart after only a few times of playing. He cried and I sure wanted to.

Great with add-ons!
By Jade from Vancouver, BC on 9/6/2009
Pros:
Attractive Design, Durable, Easy to Assemble, Easy To Operate, Fun, Quality Construction
Best Uses:
Entertainment, Imaginative Play, Young Children
Describe Yourself:
Education Oriented, Parent Of Two Or More Children
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Imaginarium Spiral Train Set:

My three year old has the figure eight set and a couple of expansion sets, so we bought him this set as an additional expansion when he complained that he couldn't build proper bridges without using Megablocks as bridge supports. You get a lot of pieces for [$], and they're quality, too. This really brought track building to a whole new level for him.I recommend you don't try to assemble this like the picture shown on the box, though. It's difficult to push the train through the spiral without knocking the whole thing over. The bridge supports are best used for long stretches of raised track. All in all, it's a great toy for a toddler with aspirations of becoming a civil engineer.
