I ordered this extra large base plate so that my grandson could build on and stabilize the City Firehouse that he received at Christmas. It isn't big enough, about 3 or so inches too short, so that sections of the building still are not stable if he has to move it. He has not yet received other larger pieces, such as the policestation, so I don't know if this base plate is large enough to support those structures. I would have hoped that Lego made a base plate large enough to support their main building structures. The product itself is great, and I'm sure I will eventually buy more as his collection increases.

      I bought this for my son as part of his birthday gift. He loves getting base plates. We always have trouble finding them in stores so when I seen the larger one online I had to buy it. He was super excited and can fit a lot of his sets on it.

                    My 9 year old nephew always needs more bases as he creates with his Harry Potter, Star Wars & City Lego sets. This larger size in the grey color goes well with all of those themes. I took advantage of Toys R Us holiday sale offering buy one get one 1/2 price on Lego. These base plates are strong and almost indestructible!
