Quick and easy alternative to setting up never-ending tracks especially if you have limited space. I can take this with a couple of trains on visits so set up is easy and clean up is a snap.

Lasted just 2-3 months and become so wrinkly you can not run the train over it without tipping it. I tried ironinig it streaching it but was not able to fix it. It is waste of money.

When we first received the mat it was the best thing in the world. Very portable, wonderful colors and overall nice to play with. With that said the mat had a life of only 3 months. We rarely even moved the mat from the train table but still the backing came off the felt front. This made ripples in the mat which mat is useless to put a train on. So, my suggestion, if you are going to use it for going away or occasional use then spend the money. If you wanted to use it for everyday type use find something a little better and long lasting.

I was so surprised by these reviews that I had to write one of my own. My son LOVES this mat. We've had it for two years and it gets use consistently. I roll it up and stand it in the closet when it's not being played with, and it has held up perfectly. It has been even on countless vacations and camping trips with us.

This item was great just after purchase. However, just like other reviewers, the felt has come away from the rubber backing making it very lumpy and the kids won't play with it anymore. I tried ironing it thinking that might reset the glue. It worked somewhat, but the kids still won't play with it. I'm very disappointed. I did contact Learning Curve about the situation. All they would tell me was if it happened within the 90-day warranty, it could be replaced but because mine was older than that, I was just out of luck. Don't waste your money.

My 3yr old son likes playing with this mat on the carpeted floor, but after a few months the felt has separated from the rubber backing and now it is all lumpy. No matter what you do you can't smooth it out. He "fixed it" by banging on it with his toy hammer, but of course, it's still lumpy. I suspect it did this bc it occasionally got stepped on causing the felt to pull away from the backing. It might last longer if it was played with on a solid surface like a train table. I liked the design on this mat bc it was a little more realistic that other mats I saw, but I think I would recommend a carpet-like rug over a felt mat.

I bought this along with Thomas the Train and it was GREAT! With the train and the small cars bought for another grandson we all had a lot of fun. Yes, I was on the floor playing also!

this mat is really cute, but after a short while it became quite lumpy (I stored it rolled up, the way it was when I bought it). While my kids love anything with Thomas on it and still play with it, it is only a few months old and the top felt layer and the rubber mat on bottom are completely seperated.
