After searching online and in many stores I finally decided on this sandbox and couldn't be more pleased! I have a 6 year old and a 4 year old and was worried they might be too old for something like this but I was wrong. I picked it up at my local store and it fit just fine in my truck. I bought 3 bags of 50 lb sand, it will hold 4 if you want. I bought some sand toys and wet the sand a little so they could build castles and they want to play in it everyday. They both fit in it and play for hours on end and love it. It's great that it has a top but I was worried about putting it in the sun bc the sand might get hot and I don't want them sitting in the sun all day so I put it under a tree that has some light shade. It's the perfect size for even a small yard. I will be back there tomorrow to buy another one for my nieces! GREAT BUY

I purchased this sandbox because of the size - more room for my boys to play than others - and the good reviews I saw online. Unfortunately, I have been 100% disappointed with this product.

1) The "sun" design in the top of the box has grooves that are about 1/2 inch deep. They constantly collect water when it rains, leaving standing water - creating a perfect condition for mosquitoes to breed all summer long. Unless I lift the lid and pour out the water every day, there is - literally - mosquito larvae in it. In addition to being a nuisance, this is a health concern (west nile)!!!

2) The four corners are designed for a child to sit on and play. When I rested on the corner to help my child (I weigh 120 lbs.), the corner collapsed. While I understand it's not designed for adults to sit on, be careful, or your sandbox will quickly get ruined.

3) After only a few weeks of owning the item, the lid has become warped and does not seem to fit securly on the sandbox anymore.

4) When I called Step 2 to express my disatisfaction with their product they stated there was nothing they could do, and told me they would SELL me a box if I wanted to try to return it to the store from which it came.

The majority of these issues are design issues. I wish I had purchased the "crabbie" sandbox instead. I am now out $$$ for the "naturally playful" sandbox and left with a *very* bad impression of Step 2 based on my customer service experience.

    My neices love to kick off their shoes and play in sand. I really wanted something much bigger, but some of them can get really expensive. This one looks good in the yard, comes with a cover, and is just big enough for the three of them to play in it comfortably together. The lid keeps out rain, debris, and animals. If we get any large storms with high winds it will need to be secured somehow, otherwise it stays in place just fine. FYI- the underside is hollowed out, which doesn't really matter in the way it works. It just wasn't something you can tell from the pictures. Overall, a nice little addition to our backyard playspace.

    Never had an issue with quality of your product. I do have an issue after receiving an email saying my order was out of stock by mail which I proceeded to cancel over the phone & I would have my son pick up at store.

    To my surprise, order I cancelled was delivered. My issue is in this day & age usually is free delivery, which is why I cancelled order. The delivery charge of $47.00 was almost as much as the sandbox.

    For the first time in my shopping either in store or online, I have to tell you I am outraged of this delivery charge. My grandson got his sandbox, but really a $47.00 delivery charge is over the top.

    Very disappointed in toys r us.

      We just got this sandbox yesterday and my 18 month old is already in love! It's a beautiful design that will fit in anywhere and look great! The size is perfect and since its rectangular it fits nicely in the corner of his play area. Even though it holds 200 pounds of sand, we only put 150 pounds so he doesn't push as much sand out over the top. The only thing I would change is that I wish the lid was heavier and sturdier.

                When we purchased it, we had done alot of research so we got it home, we used Pintrest site and they say to put screws in four areas, and use bunging cords to keep the lid from blowing off or being used as a potty for animals.. So this company has a great durable product with alittle work, you can have a sandbox of your dreams, with the cleanest and purest sand at Toys R us.. 5 bags is perfect.

                  I bought this sandbox for my daughters 5th birthday and I love it! It's the perfect size for her to play in and she can even fit a friend to play in it with her! The design is wonderful. Not "kiddish" looking. Looks very nice in my backyard and what I'm planning on doing is when she's outgrown it, I'm going to turn it into a garden. And the lid is awesome! The main reason why I came here to write this review is because hurricane sandy just blew through my town and I said to my family to kiss that lid goodbye but IT STAYED ON!!!!! That lid survived hurricane sandy! I couldn't believe it. A+ work for that design team.
                  The only negative is that when the lid is on, there are little holes on the sides that bugs can get through.... but every sandbox has that so thats nothing against this specific sandbox....,
