I bought this game expecting my daughters to not really use it appropriately. My oldest is almost 4 and autistic, and my youngest is almost 2. I am surprised at how well they play this game, and it teaches them to take turns. I taught them to put the leaves in themselves, so it's just one more fun step in the game and also is good for hand eye coordination -- but I could see how a previous reviewer would see it as time consuming, because it is. We also do a lot of counting with this game, counting the bees that fall, counting the bees as we put the in. Overall a great game for the price, and the materials are durable and kid friendly. We own upwards of 30 games/board games and we use them as reinforcers for my autistic daughters therapy -- and she always come back to this one as a reinforcer.

This is a fun game, but an adult needs to set this game up and it is TIME CONSUMING. The little leaf sticks need to go all the way through the hive and it is very tricky as they get tangled up in the middle. It takes me 3 times as long to get it set up for the kids to play it and then they are calling me to 'get the rest of the sticks through' so they can play it again. Also, the hive needs to be turned by hand to set up their 'number' for each child which is sometimes hard for the littlest ones as they can dislodge the bees inadvertantly before they even take their turn. Cute game, but keep these things in mind.

It's like kerplunk but the tree twists. Leaves are easy for little hands to pinch and pull.

Comments about I-Play Outdoors Honey Bee Tree:

Game says 3+ And my kids are 2 and 4. They were instantly in love with the bees, honey comb house and idea of playing. Getting the stick leafs into the honey comb was difficult for both kids. I had to do most the leaf placement. The more leaf sticks entered the more difficult putting them in became but was enjoyable, like a game of tettris. We played a few rounds and my 4 year old followed the rules of turn taking and liked twisting the base for each players turn. The bees became a fun toy long after the game was over. But I'm sure we will loose some if The game does not get put away.

Comments about I-Play Outdoors Honey Bee Tree:

This is definitely a fun game for a toddler. Or a first time game player of a young age. It can be a bit of a pain to set up. Sticking the leaves into the honey pot can be tedious and difficult when you have a three-year-old that's ready to get to playing! That's the only reason I give it four stars and not five. This is not a game that, I would say, a 3 to 5-year-old could set up on their own.

My kids like the bees. They are too young to put all the sticks in and to play by the rules, but they love to make the bees drop. It takes a lot of time to put the sticks.

I purchased this as a gift for my 4 year old Granddaughter. I wanted something that ran on kid power and not batteries. This game is perfect. It teaches the basics--counting, turn taking along with winning and losing. It only takes about 10 minutes to set up a play the game which is great for little ones that are short on patience. Great game and great price. Can't go wrong with this one.
