We have been using it in the classroom to study life cycles. The students love it! The only flaw was that there was a small rip in the plastic - but that was easily fixed with a little clear packing tape.
All 10 caterpillars have survived and transformed into chrysalides.

this product was awesome the caterpillars came in the mail and they were very small then 2 days later they were huge then they went into a cocone and then i put them in the habitat encloser and then the next day they were butterflys 2 days after that i let them go free i feed the warm water with sugar in it on a paper towel they also love watermalon

My 4 year old daughter enjoyed feeding and watching the butterflies grow. The one thing that was disappointing was that you had to pay for the butterflies seperately after you already paid for the net etc when you originally bought the whole thing. I was expecting a voucher for the lava, not to have to pay more money to get the butteflies.

This was given to my daughter as a gift. She loved it so much we plan on ordering more butterflies. We also plan on giving this product as a gift to other family members and friends. It's great because it's not your typical gift, and really, we can do without more toys.

I bought this last year for my then 7-year-old daughter. You send Insect Lore approx. [$]. In about a week you get the caterpillars. Your child will be able to watch the entire lifespan of the butterfly! We were sent 6 caterpillars, every one of them became a beautiful Butterfly that you can feed. It was a great learning experience for her, and ME! My daughter loved it! I highly recommend it. The only difficulty was keeping my daughter's hands off the cocoons. This is a watching experience until the butterfly's are born, then you are given a list to what to feed them. Your child will be able to see, close up, how the butterfly eats. The instructions are very clear, there is an explanation for every stage and every thing problem that may occur. The company tells you the type of butterfly and encourages your child to research them! The company also has other insects habitats available. This year we had a small antfarm.
