I love Calico Critters toys, but I was disapointed this one didn't come in the same color as the stock photo and some of the items in the picture are different. I called CService and that told me they would send the item again and attach a note to make sure I recieved the item as pictured; however the second kitchen set that was sent was still all cream color and not the black cupboard as pictured.

This is the best kitchen set-up. The fridge is great with it's ice cubes, bottles of water, and veggies. The pieces are small so my 4 year old can get frustrated at times. heck, it even comes with aprons and an oven mitt.

My 3 1/2 year old daughter enjoys playing with Calico Critters - she especially loves the kitchen set with all the detail put in to the accessories. My only suggestion is that TRU needs to update their stock photos - the set we received does not resemble the photo - all accessories are of a yellow color, NOT black is pictured - which is a little disappointing, because the black accessories looks much more modern than the set received.

This is a wonderful set for children AND collectors. The colors are vivid, and suitable for boys, as well as for girls. As with all Calico Critters, the detail is amazing. The knobs on the stove even turn! This is also a great value, there are so many accessories and they are pretty much indestructible. We have collected Calico Critters for years, my daughter went from playing to collecting, and my boys have always enjoyed them too. I even collect them myself. My only issue: the green set (currently pictured, at the time of this review) has not been available for years, and is not the one customers will receive. The current set does have green accents, but is primarily yellow, and does NOT include all of the same accessories. Most of the food items are the same. We love the fact that Toys R Us carries the Calico Critter line, they have a great selection and affordable prices. They might just want to update stock photos!

The kitchen set is a great set. My six year old got this for her birthday. With may squeals of delight and many many hours of play. This has been one of the best purchases yet. We didn't buy a house, just bought her a little table at the used store. It has a little drawer she can put her calico critters in. If you believe in imaginative play and the positive effects on a little ones brain, this is a great toy. Even my older boys want to help her play and set up, because she is so happy. She loves the kitchen.

This is a really cute set. We bought this for our oldest when she was 4 last Christmas and to this day she loves to play with it every day. It perfectly complements the Deluxe Village house also.
As for the comment about it being too small - well it belongs in a miniature house, what else would you expect!

This quaint kitchen includes a charming hutch, retro fridge and LOTS of accessories. Seems quite sturdy, actually. The only thing I did not like was the pedestal table; the style is modern, unlike the rest of the pieces; but my five year old grandchild likes the set and plays with it often. Considering what I have payed in the past for cheap junky toys that lost luster fast...this is an excellent value!
