I really love this product. I was finding myself waking up several times in the night to check on my daughter. Looking at her little chest to make sure it was going up and down. Now with this monitor I don't feel like I have to do that. It has a little light that blinks every time she takes a breath, and if she stops breathing for a period of time it will sound an alarm. I worried a lot about her especially when she first started rolling over. I would always find her sleeping flat on her face. This product really helped me to relax. The only thing that I wish different is that the portable monitor showed the blinking green light as well as the attached monitor. The clicking mode is too distracting to use.

My baby insists on sleeping on his tummy & this monitor gives me the peace of mind I need to let him. It rarely alarms falsely, only when he scoots very far off of it. I simply reposition him & problem solved. The alarm is very loud, but it has not woken him up yet. I recommend this to everyone!

Bought a medium-grade monitor which was both poor quality and defective. Upgrade to the Angel Care monitor and couldn't be happier!!
Once we installed it, my anxiety over SIDS went away immediately. In the early weeks, Angel Care monitor allowed me to leave my son in his bed without obsessing about checking on him every 5 minutes for a heartbeat or breath. Alarm sounds when there is no movement for 20 seconds.
Pros: Sound quality on the monitor is superb.
Cons: When using a bassinet (cosleeper) you do need to install a flat board beneath mattress for movement sensor to lay on. Wish it monitor could also be used on its own without the sensor pad.

I wasn't sure this was something I needed when I registered for it, and now that my baby is 5 months old I can say I really don't NEED it- but I am still glad to have it. As a new mom I find myself a little paranoid about SIDS thanks to the overwhelming level of warnings and information out there even though the true risk is so low. This product definitely falls into the fear factor market that takes advantage of new moms. Regardless this monitor helps me to sleep at night and to put my baby down for naps without feeling the need to check on her every five minutes. You already lose enough sleep when you have a baby!
The alarm WILL go off and scare the bejebus out of you. It is a terrible feeling. You can adjust the sensor pad's sensitivity if it happens often,. This is very annoying- however I personally would rather get a couple false alarms with this system than have my baby stop breathing and not know it because I didn't have this system.

If you are like me and want the peace of mind I would recommend this product. It is also a sound monitor which is nice- I like "two-fer" products to cut down on the clutter. :)

I used this monitor with my daughter when she was an infant (she's now 2) and it allowed me to sleep without worrying if she was breathing. She never set it off. My son was born 5 months ago and he set it off several times from when he was about 4 weeks old until he was about 3 months. He stopped breathing but luckily the monitor would go off and I would rush in his room to rouse him from his deep sleep. I actually have 2 of these monitors - one for his crib and one for the bassinet next to my bed. He set both of them off. The alarm is very loud but he was sleeping so deeply he didn't even wake up when it would go off. I'm convinced he would have died from SIDS if I did not have this monitor. I've bought it for all of my friends and family who have new babies.

We bought this before our daughter was born and it has been a LIFESAVER. It allowed us to sleep at night...something I don't think we'd have done if we didn't have it. As our daughter got older (around 7 months or so) she started squishing herself into the corners of the crib, and that would occasionally trigger the monitor to go off. I never minded it, because it just let me know that it was working! We are expecting our second daughter in three weeks, and have already purchased one for her room!

I love the Angel Mat! When my baby moved to his room on the 2nd floor, I was so scared. I used this and my video monitor and was able to rest easier. The only downfall to this is if he rolled the alarm would go off, scaring me to death. But, I knew it worked well then!

I was given this monitor when I was pregnant with my daughter. I now give it to everyone I know who gets pregnant! The monitor alerts you if your little angel stops moving or breathing. It sets your mind at ease when you put them to bed. The sound quality is so good that I can actually hear every breath my daughter takes! I would have been a nervous wreck had it not been for this product! My daughter is two now, and we still use it! Now it alerts us if she gets out of bed. I would recommend this to EVERYONE!!!!

I have used this monitor for my two younger kids, and was so thankfull to have it this week when my newborn (2 week old) stopped breathing. It was not the typical "newborn breath holding" so I went ahead and took him in to the hospital. Turns out he has a medical condition that causes him to stop breathing and if he is not helped to start again he wont.

i have never had a false alarm with either child, but would rather have a false alarm than not know anything if there is a problem. My current unit has no static, but the unit I had 5 years ago with my other son did have static, I was told to open it right away and test to see if there was static and if so to return it right away for another unit since they should not have that problem.

We got this monitor & used it for the 1st time last Thurs night (9/17/09). The 15 second alarm chirped 3 times throughout the night, but the full alarm never sounded. Still, I was a bit concerned that our daughter (5 months old) went 15 seconds without breathing so often. This morning at 2:38 the full alarm sounded. I ran into the nursery to see if she was breathing, but I couldn't tell initially. The monitor was still flashing red, so I didn't know if it needed to reset or if she still wasn't breathing. FINALLY she coughed, & the light turned green. She probably went 25-30 seconds without breathing! I'm sure she's been doing this since she was born, so I am extremely thankful that we now know about it. I have called my pediatrician because I believe she has baby apnea. If I didn't have this monitor, I wouldn't have known. This is a must-have for all parents!
