This toy is great. It's bright, durable, sings, educational, my daughter loves it. The shapes are not 'hard' to put in once they learn- that is the point! Maybe the same song does get a bit annoying but what child's toy doesn't? If you are looking for a quite toy for your child buy a puzzle! Don't rate great toys low just because you were annoyed! Especially if the child likes it, it's good quality, safe, and serves it's purpose!

My 19 month old got this for Christmas when she was about 13 months. She was too young for it then. Now, she does play with it, but mostly just changing the on/off switch to the different modalities. I find the toy a bit annoying. The other thing I don't like is that the different shapes a very difficult to get to stay put where they belong and we constantly get the "whoops" even when I put them in place. The cutest feature of it is when you push the top button and make the shapes "pop" out, that is once you get them in in the first place.

Received as a birthday present for my 1yr old, its been in the box for a month. It's loud and it appeared the shapes weren't attached, which would mean a headache for me because i'm OCD about losing parts.

After seeing him enjoying the same toy at daycare (shapes attached with a coiled cord), i finally gave in and opened the toy. Mistake. The shapes are NOT attached on the new version.

There are a lot of games, but I found myself hitting the buttons trying to get it back to the game I was on.

Its a cute pull toy. It flashes and makes noise, but I doubt my little feller is going to actually learn anything from it.

This toy is ridiculously loud! A volume switch would be nice.. it's louder than my son's other toys when they're on their loudest setting. Also, he got it for Christmas but didn't start playing with it until maybe a week ago.. the music constantly gets caught in a loop and skips ALL THE TIME. The toy would be great if these issues were fixed. I love VTech toys, but this is a huge waste of money.

We bought the lady bug about 2 months ago and have loved it. The music is cute and the lack of volume control has not bothered us at all. The toy was great until 2 days ago when the music started skipping and now it randomly jumps to the start up song while playing another song.

I bought this toy for my nephew a year ago and it was greatly enjoyed. So I did not hesitate to buy one for my child. I was greatly disappointed to learn that my version no longer has the strings that attach the pieces to the unit. I thought that was the best part of the toy so that the pieces would not be lost. Why would they change it?

We play with this together. We sing and dance and play with the shapes. It is light enough that my 14 month old can carry it around. Its fun and cute.
The spinning little bug on top is rigid (holds its shape), made of plastic which is a bit different from the shiny plastic of the main shell. My child fell on it and was still bruised for a week.
For us, this is a toy we use when our child can be supervised - to make it more interactive and to try to prevent accidents.

E loves this, she got it for her bday and has yet to ignore it. I have 2 complaints: the biggest is how loud it is, there isn't any volume control :(, 2nd is the stickers on the shapes, who ever thought that was a good plan... hmm small children are playing with this lets put stickers on, E has eaten, pulled a couple off, oh well. It is a great toy, songs are good and wonderful learning tool.

My Son got this on his 1st Birthday. He just used to push some buttons and enjoy the sounds and lights. But the sounds started hanging at one word. And it just hanged there. It no longer speaks anything. What a waste of money.

The kid plays with it rarely and it still hanged. Now it doesn't play any learning sounds. But just hanged at a half word which keeps repeating continuously. Very Disappointed. I purchased it on march 6th 2012.
