Product Description

The Peek-a-Blocks Shape Sorter introduces shaped blocks to the Peek-a-Blocks line. Baby is rewarded with fun sound effects and music when they sort any of the 4 shapes, or if they just drop the shapes through the generous open top of the cube. The 4 shapes include; a star with a star-shaped spinning pinwheel inside, a circle with a round spinning sun, a square with small blocks that rattle & shake, and a triangle with a triangular shaped piece of cheese with a little mouse pop-out surprise when baby shakes the block. A handle makes it perfect for on-the-go fun.

My 10 month old daughter got this for Easter. I've been in love with the "Peek-a-boo" blocks since my first child, my daughter is my third. I held on to all the sets I've had from my previous children and this compliments those old sets grandly. My daughter plays happily with this every single day. I never turn the sound on and plan to take out the batteries. It does not need the sound and I hate electronic noise making toys. The small jingling the innards of the blocks make are more than enough to thrill my daughter and keep her shaking them for more. She loves taking blocks in and out endlessly. I see this being a favorite for years to come! It would have made me happier if it made no noise in the first place but if you like that sort of thing it does it for you but you don't need it to keep your child happy.

My 15 month old wasn't too impressed with this toy. I wish there was some kind of cover on this box that you can open and close so it forces older ones to put the shapes where they belong and not just drop it in through the top. Also, once there's 2 or 3 shapes in there, it's crowded in there and therefore hard to put the remaining pieces through the shape sorter part w/o rearranging what's already inside. I do like that it is see through and that it makes sounds when you drop it in, but I would not recommend this toy for older babies. I don't find it challenging enough.

I should have thought about this before I purchased it. How can you get your baby to put the shapes through the right slots if there is a large opening at the top of this product? I feel like this is very poorly designed.

Comments about Toys R Us 1001153 Fisher-Price Peek-a-Blocks: Shape Sorter:

Comparing this product to others like it. I knew this one was the best. The shapes have distinct colors that match the color and shape on the box. So its easier for a playful baby to understand where the shapes go through.
Although this is a great learning toy for babies and toddlers, i wish it had a lid that closes over the top of the toy to store the shapes when its not being used. The toy does have a big open space over the top to store the toys but it does not have a lid so my son tends to put the shapes in the space rather than through the corresponding shape space.
Overall it entertains my little one giving me a chance to take a well deserved break and that makes it all worth it!

My mother in law picked out this toy quickly for combination sale for fisher price products and ended up being my daughter's favorite toy. It makes music when you place toys toys inside the box. The handle makes it easy for your toddler to drag it along w them! It holds her attention even for independent play and she puts other toys in it to fill up. (To Hear music go off)

Although he is only 6 months old, the large square opening is large enough for him to put things into and get the music. The blocks are a little big for his hands yet but if I place them, he can push them. I feel this toy will last quite some time. Also it has music but not the flashes of light which I consider good. To many of the toys are all lights and sound which I don't like. I try to limit this as I don't think it is good for them.

My daughter really enjoys the different shaped blocks and the music they make when put in the box. I was worried that the box would be too heavy for her to carry, but she totes it around easily. The on/off/volume switch is very easy to find.

My son took interest in this toy while we were at the store. He was very interested in the sounds that it made and was eager to discover what generated the sound. His father and I were all to excited at his initial reaction to the toy because he's never taken an immediate interest in his toys at home. When we brought the toy home our son began to play with it immediately. He enjoys "sorting" the shapes and is pleased with himself when he manages to sort the correct shape resulting in the toy making the noise. So far, it's his favorite toy.
