The bear is very soft and when you turn it on it sounds just like the sounds you hear when they do an ultrasound or listen for the heartbeat. The only thing I don't care for is that the knob to turn it on and off sticks out on the back.

I've used this nightly since my daughter came home at 2 days old and she is now almost 6 months. This is the only product too that still has the original batteries in it. It also plays for a long length of time too unlike everything else we have for her at night.

This bear has been a lifesaver! Coming home from the hospital with twins has been an adjustment but this bear has helped with sleep! I would recommend it to anyone!

You hear that "white noise" is great way for a baby to transition from the womb. This product provides that. I liked the idea of having something consistent for my son at bedtime. (shortly after his birth we had to move 4,000 miles away and were going to have to stay in several different hotels and he'd have to sleep in different cribs. This was a way I could provide some consistency) Now that he is a year old he can sleep with or without it, but I think it puts him into a deeper sleep quicker insuring that he won't wake up. I would have given it a higher rating but it drains batteries quickly. I use it for bedtime and naps and I have to change the batteries about once a month (2 x AA's)

loved the original light beige bear. it's still in use after 2 years, but baby 2 is coming and want to get another one, but we don't like this design.

I read reviews of all the different sound machine products out there to help put a baby to sleep, and this one seemed the best. I've been using it since my baby was born (she's six weeks old now), and she seems to already know when she hears the womb sound that it's time to go to sleep. It stays on long enough for my baby to be fully asleep (45 minutes I think?). The volume control is excellent---it's a dial control, and you have the option of making it very soft or very loud.

Friends recently gave me the Gentle Giraffe (made by the same company that makes the Sleep Sheep). It's really cute, and it has four different sound settings, but even the white sound of the sleep setting doesn't work as well as the womb sound of the Mommy Bear.

My husband, baby, and I went out of town recently, and we already had a ton of stuff to pack. I didn't want to bring the entire stuffed bear, so I removed the sound box and just brought it. I put the sound box in one corner of the hotel cribs, and my daughter slept very well.

This product was brought while my grandchild was still in the womb. :-) Upon receiving it my daughter said she placed it on her stomach and he started kicking...lol
