We hate this bear. It has a great sound that is very soothing to our 4 month old. We've used it since he was born. BUT, it runs on a 45 minute timer, so we are constantly having to reset it. And it doesn't wind down. So if the timer runs out, the bear is still ON, just making no sound. Which causes the batteries to drain. And when the batteries drain, it takes multiple turns to regain the sound. Sometimes, the bear will just cut off before the 45 minutes is up, or the sound will begin to hiccup, which wakes baby. If the thing would just keep running the noise, or actually turn OFF after the timer is through, we'd save ourselves batteries and baby would sleep more soundly.

This was a shower gift. I have looked for this for sometime and was glad to find it. It is a life saver for new and fairly new(3 mos +) moms.

We recieved our bear when my daughter was 3 mo old as a gift and it is wonderful!! She is now 14 1/2 yrs old and still has it and it still works like a champ. We would go through batteries every couple of months and we used it EVERY NIGHT!! I can't say anything bad about it at all!! I have spent weeks trying to find one for my soon addition of a great grand daughter so she can have the same calming and soothing dreams that my daughter did!! I am so glad they still make it!! This is a must have Item when you have a baby, because it gives them the sounds they heard of their mothers heartbeat for 9 months and is comforting to them. I really recomend it to all parents!!!

My newborn nephew immediately took to this bear. If he's a little fussy, I turn it on and he calms down immediately. He inclines his ear to the direction of the sound too.

I have made this same purchase 12 years ago for my nephew when he was born. He loved it,so,I bought another one for his baby sister. She,too,loves it. There is only one thing I would change about this product.Not that it's too loud for the baby,but,it would be a 5 star purchase if the volume worked to a lower setting. Other than that...it is a perfect gift. One I would buy over and over again,as I have just proven.Not a big believer in ANYTHING being perfect,but this is REALLY close to it.I think if you give this a shot you will not only be pleased w/ it but your baby too will enjoy.Not just at naptime but all the time.Baby is starting to goo and she talks to her momma bear a lot!! Do yourself a favor and try this bear. She also comes w/ a velcro strap so she secures to the crib keeping the little one company.

Being a fist time parent, this soother was the absolute best thing we have ever purchased. It works wonders. Our baby was fussy and we had trouble getting him to sleep in the first few weeks. It was a life saver and I would recommend this product to every parent out there. This is a must have!!!!

Oh by the way, I did read from some users that it was too loud. #1 there is a setting to decrease the volume a bit and #2 and most important, this is what a baby hears when he/she is in the womb. All you are doing is getting their surroundings to mimic the cozy womb they lived in for 9 months.

I am an RN who works in Maternity settings and have actually purchased this item for different units on which I have worked. While nothing is perfect, this item is great for soothing most fussy babies. I wish more people were aware of this product and the effect it can have on their own infants. What could possibly be more representative of safety and comfort than the sounds a baby hears for all those months inside their mother's wombs? If someone is concerned about the safety of having a toy in the crib, the sound machine is removable and can actually be used separately from the actual bear.

I received this item as a gift off of my baby registry and was pretty disappointed. We used it a total of two times before the sound box broke. When it did work, however, it was very cute and the sound was great.

this gets played at top volume every single night. It's getting to a point where *I* need it to fall asleep. It's soothing and also drowns out house noises (like the dogs barking or the tv, music, etc).

My biggest complaint is that I'm changing the batteries constantly. But my boy sleeps 7-12 hours/night, so it makes sense since I let it run the whole time. I prefer this to the other ones that only have 45 minute timers because he needs it all night long.
