Due to my daughter having nursing/weight gain issues I am forced to exclusively pump. At first I was using the 24mm that came with my pump. I was constantly sore to the point that even putting my tank on hurt. After researching I bought the larger shield and differece was amazing! After only 2 pumps the pain went away and I cut my pumping time by almost half!

I really wish that I would have had these from the very beginning. The first 3 months of pumping I was constantly dealing with chafing from the breast shields, to the point that my skin was being rubbed off despite using lanolin beforehand. Then I tried the SoftFit shields, and these were a little better at first. But the problem with those is that the nipple and areola are pulled in so far that they smush against the back of the connectors, which is painful too! Finally I was frustrated enough to call Medela, and the agent that I spoke with suggested these. Oh my goodness, they have made a world of difference! Not only are they much more comfortable, but I also am able to express much more. I am surprised that I needed these because I am quite small busted, and my nipples are so flat that I am unable to nurse without a nipple shield, but indeed I did.

I bought these in addition to the Freestyle spare parts to save a little on washing up time. These are comfortable and it's great not to be constantly washing parts.

I am not a busty woman, but the shields that came with the pump were too small for me and made pumping painful and uncomfortable. I bought this next size up and now pumping is so much easier!

Breastfeeding was a little harder second time around because her mouth is much smaller. When engoragement stuck, it was almost impossible to keep nursing. This shield kept very sore nipples from becoming worse, helped baby latch on, and made the pain of the first few weeks bearable.

I bought this with the idea that I may need a bigger size rather than the standard. And I'm glad I did because for the first time in three months I finally pumped more than 5 ounces and the breast that produces less expressed more, it also took less time. I go back to work next week and I've been pumping with the standards and was only getting 5 ounces total from both sides. The bigger size made a difference, I got 8 ounces total in 15 minutes. One thing though I'm pretty sure one breast is bigger than the other as it still pinched a bit on the left so I'm going to buy the extra large for the other side, too bad they are only sold in pairs and not single sizes.
