It is the only thermometer we've found that works. It gives a reading in 7 seconds. The best out there.

I purchased this thermometer based on the online reviews. I really thought that this would be a good, dependable thermometer, but I'm sorry to say that it's not. First of all, the battery was almost dead when I first took it out of the package and the battery required is not very easy to find. When you have a potentially sick newborn and you need to take his temperature, you have to have a reliable thermometer. When it did work, the temperature reading was vastly different every time! Newborns need urgent care if their temp exceeds 100.4 and when we needed an accurate reading in the middle of the night, we couldn't get one. I guess you get what you pay for - a [$] thermometer is a waste of money. We paid $40 for a much better and reliable one at another store and have been very happy with the results.

It was perfect at first...accurate and quick. I only used it about 7 times before the battery died though. Nothing like thinking you have a sick child and finding you don't have a working thermometer.

This worked well until after about a dozen uses the battery died! I was always careful to shut it off after every use. Now I will just throw it away since the cost of a new battery for it is almost the same as the cost of the thermometer itself.

It really is that quick and easy. I have another red cross thermometer also, but it is not as nice. This I just hide under my angel's arm while he's on the changing table and he doesn't even know it. And just like that - I've got a reading. Just remember to add 0.9 degrees to translate arm reading to mouth (98.6 normal) reading. I love it.
