I have been looking for a comfortable pair of really portable headphones that will not damage my ears. These are good for that. The placement of the sound generation unit's output area is just great. Also these don't leak very much (as in sound). Not for audiophiles but for casual users these are great.

i bought these ear phones over 5 years ago and they would still work awesome if i didnt cut them to try to and my own phone control to them.

I purchased this item in light pink- obviously meant for girls. I know it sounds funny to mention, but I have rather large ears. I put the headphones on and they immediately fell off. There was no adjustment available that would make them fit. If they are too big for my huge ears, who are these things made for? Elephants? I was very disappointed that I didn't even get the chance to check the sound quality, as they wouldn't stay on my ears. I'm pretty bummed, as I felt they were priced well. Now I know why. Poor planning. If the size adjustments were made, this may be a good product. I guess I'll never know. Returned them last night.

I'm not joking, I've bought 5 pairs in two years because they're inexpensive, but the jack always breaks. Guaranteed.
Here's a message to Sony. Spend the extra 1 cent and put a more stable rubber support on the jack so the wires don't break. C'mon! It's 1 penny (probably less) to just reinforce that jack. Then raise the price to $10.99, I promise you, you'll sell more! I'm done buying these, no matter how inexpensive they are, they break too often. I'm done with Sony.

These worked well with my Walkman at work for around 4 years until I lost them. It would provide Fine sound, it wasn't great or bad just fine, but the price it worked better than other headphones, but now I have moved onto Noise Cancellation headphones and had left these behind.

I use them mainly during my workouts, and average 1-year with each pair that I buy. They stay in place no matter how much I move, and for the price I have always been happy with the MDR-J10 headphones.

I am on my 3rd pair this year. I don't know why I keep getting them. I guess I just keep hoping they will last longer, but they never do. I don't like they way the other earbuds feel, cause tey hurt my ears, so I always end up buying another pair of these.

These are great earphones made for people that are active in sports and active people. They won't fall out in a sport, but they just don't last long. Sony truly should address this problem, and if they do, they will have the best earphones on the market.

I bought these as an "upgrade" when i bought my son a very nice MP3 player. He really liked them, but after four months the left earpiece stopped working. Such simple technology; it can only mean really poor manufacturing quality. I've had cheap earbuds last for years, so it is very annoying to have a "better" set of headphones turn out to be worse. Definitley not recommended.
