My Grandson, London (2 1/2 yrs.) just loves his workshop. He loves putting things together and then taking them apart. Grandma & Grandpa purchased the workshop for Easter...much better than giving a lot of candy. My daughter said that she loves the shelf on the bottom to store all of the pieces. It is realistic and a great learning tool. Boys just love to tinker no matter what the age. My daughter would recommend it for any child 2 and up.

This workbench was not what I expected. I encourage people to really look at the deminsions. It is significantlly smaller and so light that it blows over with a strong gust of wind. The "blueprints" that come with it, is also not as simple. You have to sit down with the child and show him.....I thought it might be something simple to have him figure out on his own. Not for a (4) year old as far as the blueprint! BUT he does love sitting down and trying to make pieces fit! This toy was way to expensive for its quality and size. it is smaller than a basic basic girls kitchen and it costs more! I will never recommend this item to anyone. When they only carry it online and not in the store - that is my FIRST CLUE!

Real Projects Workshop

About Me Grandparent

Pros

  • Could Have Been Fun

Cons

  • The Drill Does Not Work

Best Uses

  • Imaginative Play
  • Motor Skills Development

Comments about Step2 Real Projects Workshop:

I bought this for my 4 year old grandson. Looked forward to sharing playtime with him. First, the drill doesn't have enough power to turn the included screws, even with new batteries. Then, my grandson points out projects displayed on the included blueprint that he wanted to make and we find out that key pieces are missing. Very disappointing to say the least.

Comments about Step2 Real Projects Workshop:

This was a great gift for my two-year old. He loves the tools that come with workshop, especially the drill that comes with different bits. It took him a few attempts but he was able to use the drill to screw the nails into the tabletop. He is also able to connect some of the "wood" foam pieces, but I know he will be able to do more, like build, when he is older. I think it is great for motor skill development! This is a great quality product and I am looking forward to him growing and using this more.

Comments about Step2 Real Projects Workshop:

We bought this for our three year old for Christmas after doing much research and couldn't be more pleased. Our son loves this workshop and has played with it nonstop. This product is durable and sturdy, comes with great tools-a working drill with multiple drill bits, hammer, screwdriver and many bolts that actually screw into the tabletop! Also, there's a working vice grip, a blueprint-like decal showing 12 projects, great decals really making it look like a precessional workshop. The projects are great and the foam pieces really look like wood! There's a space on top of the workshop for the toolbox you assemble. There's plenty of storage for the many tools, nuts, and bolts that come with the toy as well as room for any additional tools you might have or add. There's a storage drawer for the foam wood pieces as well. This toy is great for collaborative play with your children, they can also play solo, highly entertained! I did a lot of research before buying and this toy is the BEST VALUE, it offers more than toys twice its price. I didn't buy it simply because of the great price, I bought it because of all that it offered. You won't find a better made, more entertaining workshop for your builder. This should be on the top of every rated toy list. I promise, type child will love it, and you will love that it builds their hands eye coordination as well as lets their imagination soar!
