The Baby Einstein® Octoplush is a soft, multi-textured, developmental plush toy. Young babies can hug Octoplush to hear a Baby Einstein® melody and explore the textures for tactile development. As baby grows, colorful stitched satin patches on velour legs invite baby to learn color names through repetition. Squeeze each leg to hear color names in English, Spanish and French. Patterns of the color names are also printed on the underside of each leg in multiple languages.

Our kids (triplets) started enjoying this toy when they were able to roll over it. Later when they could sit they would pick it up and suck the tentacles, sometimes they hit the color buttons at the right spot but mostly at this age (now 9 months) they love hugging it and making it 'sing'. Our son 'dances' anytime the octoplush starts singing it's music and my husband and I love the 'classical' baby einstein songs. Occasionally a 'tentacle' will become so slobber soaked that temporarily that color is 'out of commission' but it always works again when it dries out. The kids do roll over it alot, and while on vacation our Octoplush broke, it started saying 'blue' all the time when just moved slightly interupting songs etc [...] Our new Octoplush is ready to go and every bit as well loved as the first. All 3 of the kids LOVE this toy, they crawl across the pen as soon as they hear its song, they grab it back and forth from each other to take turns sucking and chewing on his tentacles. He's easily a contender for their favorite toy. He's in the top 3 favorites for both parents and children in our household for certain. Hopefully when they're old enough to hit the buttons with consistency they'll learn their colors in multiple languages too!

We received this toy at our baby shower less than two years ago. My son played with it every once in awhile, but not every day. After approximately 8 months, the orange tentacle started to say yellow. I never made time to call the company about the issue until just recently. Unfortunately, now the product is out of warranty (although they-Kids II, Inc-did not specify the length of the warranty), and they will not do anything about the issue. Since it wasn't an expensive toy I'm not going to push the issue, but I'm upset that they are not standing by their products. The toy is very cute, but at this point we're going to remove the batteries to avoid our son learning the wrong colors and avoid buying Baby Einstein products if they're going to break after less than two years!

We got this for our 6 month old and when we first took it out we thought it needed new batteries.
We changed them and we still could not hear the toy unless it was right next to your head!
I saw that it had two settings for sound but it was on high. It is very cute but our baby AND my toddler don't like it much as they can't hear it.

I bought this for my future grand baby so can not say if they like it. BUT I have enjoyed music (every time I go by it on baby dresser I push "tummy" button) seems like good stuff and nice bright colors!!!

One of my best girlfriends bought me this Octoplush for my 3 month old and he ADORES IT! He loves all the special tunes and with every week he interacts with the Octopus even more! Grandma babysat him and she got mad at me because I forgot to pack the Octopus! A must have item! :-)

My 3 month old daughter loves this toy, she smiles and "talks" to it when its playing the music and giggles when it says "yellow" or "purple" she also likes trying to put the tentacles in her mouth. I accidentally dropped it in a puddle this morning so we'll need to buy another one. It even calms her when she gets fussy in the carseat I just press it and she immediately starts to calm down and a few seconds later is smiling away.
