My six-year-old, who loves to draw, received this art case for Christmas and she absolutely loves it! It comes with crayons, watercolors, oil pastels, markers, colored pencils, a pencil sharpener, a pair of safety scissors, glue, and one tube of (red) glitter glue. The variety of art supplies included is wonderful for children and my daughter has been enjoying trying out all of the different products. My complaints (reasons for not giving this product 5 stars) are: 1.) the oil pastels pop out of their compartments. This initially was a source of great frustration to my daughter, but once I showed her that not even I could get them to stay, she moved on; 2.) the case is rather large and heavy, although my daughter just drags the case wherever she wants to work on her art; 3.) I wish there were a few more colors of glitter glue included. Other than that, this case is sure to provide a great deal of enjoyment to my daughter!

Bought this for my 8yr old,He loves it, it has everything he needs and then some.The plastic holders for the crayons could be a little more sturdy sometimes the crayons pop out.other than that, its perfect.

very good kit. tons of crayons, markers, oilpastels..etc. but when you close it the pencils fall out. we havew a rose art small plastic kid, for 2 years now and nothing ever falls out

I bought this for my son, who is 8 and loves to draw. It arrived in good shape except the handle is broken. I would normally send it back but it is sold out everywhere, so I am afraid to let this one go so close to Christmas. I know he will love it. This set comes with everything a child needs for their artwork, and a nice place for everything to be put away. It comes in a wooden briefcase-like box, though it is quite large and heavy, so I think that would be a problem for a younger child.

I bought this as a gift for my son's seventh birthday. When it arrived, I had to open it and put every marker and crayon into its place, they were all over the place. I had a hard time getting every piece in, and I was worried my son would be frustrated and in no time I would have 200 pieces scattered throughout the house. Had I written my review at that point, things would not have looked too good for this product.

Two weeks later, here's what I have to say.

First, when he opened the box, his eyes nearly popped out of his head. He was SO excited by the selections. He immediately got to work creating his next masterpiece. There are enough markers and crayons that when his sisters asked to share, he unhesitatingly said yes.

My 5 year old has trouble getting the markers back in, but my son and 9 year old have no trouble (except for the oil pastels, they ask me to do it for them.) It is great that every piece has a place. After losing one of the markers, my son is very careful to put everything away, my worry about scattered markers has so far proved groundless.

His other birthday presents sit neglected in his room. He hurries to get ready for school so he has extra time to color, and his homework gets done in a flash so he has time to color some more. We have had other marker and crayon sets, but nothing has generated this level of excitement.

My sons only complaint is that he always has to do his coloring on the floor. The case is too awkward and heavy for him to lift up onto the table.

When I first saw it.it was ordinary.When I opened it I saw it.It was a wooden breifcase, gleaming and polished,inside were gateways to creativity.There were crayons,paints,oil pastels,colored pencils,markers,glue,even sissors.I made beutiful posters and projects.It had a long gold hinge,and a archway handle.That was my first one.I ordered another,and in came a cheap plastic box with it's hinges broken,and it didn't have crayola quality.I ordered a nother one to replace it, and I got one.It's crayons,paintbrushes,colored pancils and oil pastels fell out, and the hinges weren't the same,but IT had crayola quality.This is something I will cherish for years.

this will be a Christmas gift for my 13 yr old who likes to draw, she's not too bad either. I hope it is as good as it says it is cause it wasn't cheap!

My child won this in a contest and all I can say is WOW! She's just thrilled with everything in it. She loves all the color names like chocolate chip and kitty grey. She also was happy that it comes with pastels because she worked with them in school last year. The only drawback is that the case is too heavy for a child. Mine can carry it because she's older but it would be difficult for a younger child.
