The bookcase is very nice. It matches our crib perfectly and is a good size. The assembly was easy (about 20-30 minutes).

I love this bookcase!! I originally was having one built, before my son was born, but that fell through. Now that he's almost 18 months old I finally was able to buy it with tax return. I put it together ALL BY MYSELF in about an hour. It would have been a little easier with my husbands help but he was busy. The only reason I say that is because when you assemble it you lay it on its side, insert the shelves then lay the other side of the bookcase on top and tighten the screw locks. Then stand it up. so other then trying to get all my holes lined up and then the weight of standing it up. IT WAS A PIECE OF CAKE AND 100% STURDY!!!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I had a very different experience. Very easy to put together, and while my daugther isn't born yet, I was not able o pull the shelves down on myself, so I don't see how this was the experience of the other reviewer. There are grooves for the shelves, and the shelves and furniture are all good quality wood. The only piece that was a little dissappointing was the backing, which is a thinner plywood.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is a beautiful piece of furniture. However, the shelves easily pull forward and fall. Within the first few minutes of building it, my toddler managed to pull two shelves down on him. There are no grooves where the shelf pegs are and no side lip to prevent the shelves from coming forward and falling off their pegs. Plus, it does not come with a wall fastener.
