this is my first pregnancy and did not know what i was doing when it came to breastfeeding.My nipples were so sore and i really though of giving up breast feeding and going to a bottle, the baby was not latching on properly. I was in pain :( but my sister advised me of this product and i tried it ... it saved my nipple :) im still breastfeeding :) its very comy and easy to clean. I reccomend :)

MY MOM PURCHASED THIS ITEM FOR ME AND I LOVE IT! I WAS JUST ABOUT TO HANG UP BREASTFEEDING FROM "MOUTH TO BREAST" STYLE, AS I FOUND IT TO BE SO PAINFUL BUT THIS PRODUCT REALLY HELPS. THE NIPPLE SHIELD ALSO FUNCTIONS IN TO WAYS FOR ME IT PREVENT MY DAUGHTER FROM SUCKING THE SKIN RIGHT OFF ME AND AS A NIPPLE EXTENSION ASWELL. cANT ASK FOR MORE!

After I had my 2nd daughter I wanted to breastfeed but after day 2 when the milk started kicking in my breasts were really swollen and my nipples became flat, making it hard for my daughter to latch on... she got frustrated and so did I. Feeding was a torture for the both of us. The first day out of the hospital I bought the nipple protectors and it really saved me. It made feeding a lot less stressful and my daughter had no problems at all. I love this product and will recommend it to anyone.

had to use these because my son wouldn't latch on correctly. exclusively pumped for the first week because I had tried the medela nipple shields and I still could not get him to latch on. Finally I ordered this brand and they worked immediately and we are still using them with no problems at 9 weeks old.

Four days home from the hospital and my daughter was still having a hard time latching due to flat nipples. We were extremely frustrated and she was so hungry. The first time I tried these she was able to latch immediately and nurse perfectly. I only had to use them for about a week because nursing with these pulled my nipples out to the proper shape. I went on to successfully breastfeed for 13 months. These were a lifesaver!

After being accused by the nursery nurse of starving my baby when he wouldn't latch on in the first 24hrs after delivery, disappointed I started bottle feeding. Not giving up on trying to breast feed, I pumped and continued to try. Finally someone suggested these and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Five days old and not only did he latch with no problem, there was no "nipple confusion", and very little discomfort! I wish someone had told me sooner. My only problem is that he gets so excited to eat sometimes that he knocks the protector off!

Having flat nipples makes breastfeeding difficult. My cousin recommended this product after I struggled with a similar product by Medela. In the end, I kept going to the store to purchase this product but it was always sold out. My cousin brought me a package from KY when she came down. I swear by this product!! BREASTFEEDING is natural and this made it so much easier for my pumpkin and me.

We left the hospital feeling optimistic that we got a good latch. When we came home we got so frustrated because I have inverted nipples. I was almost about to switch to formula feeding. But these little miracles saved us! They are so thin that I still feel like I am breastfeeding without the pain and frustration. As my mom said, whoever invented these, should definitely get recognized for an outstanding product idea. My husband got me 5 packs of these, so I keep one in our diaper bag, one in the kitchen, one in the bedroom, etc. So I highly recommend buying more than one pack, so you don't have to clean them right after each use. Just use mild soap to wash them, rinse and boil them for a few minutes in the evening and you are set for another hassle free breastfeeding day!

One con- it's sometimes hard to stick them on. I usually put a drop of water on each side to solve this problem.

These work as described. At the end of my first week at home with my son my husband found me having a serious meltdown (in tears) over the pain I was in. My nipples were just about to start bleeding I'm sure of it until I sent him out to get me these. I sent him to BRU with a list of things and this product totally saved me from giving up breastfeeding. I was NOT going to be able to endure the pain much longer. For me it was worse than labor pains! I also recommend the Avent Breast shells which helped my nipples heal as well. The only negative is that I noticed that when I don't use the shields my son nurses faster which I assume is because the flow just isn't as fast with the shields. BUT he will nurse without them (although when he's fussy it's MUCH easier to get him to latch on with one of these since he whips his arms around frantically when he gets like that) I just have to wean MYSELF off the shields! Also like other reviewers mentioned milk does accumulate in the shield so you should have a burp cloth to catch the excess.

This product is amazing. My daughter was in the NICU and was bottle fed since I was unable to be there all the time for her feedings. After she was discharged, she refused to latch on anymore. She would scream and arch her back. So I started pumping and feeding her from a bottle, but this took so long, plus I couldn't stand having her scream in her crib while I pumped to maintain my milk supply. I had to wash and sterilize pump parts and bottles, and then still sit there and feed her for 30 minutes. I was miserable. I had tried these nipple shields before, but it was messy and my daughter kept ripping it off while fussing. Then, at 7 weeks old, I got so fed up with pumping that I decided to try these one more time. The first time was a bit messy and tricky, sure, but the fact that she latched right on and started nursing gave me the encouragement to make it work. With a bit of practice, using these has become second nature by day two. It is no longer messy. I like that these shields come two to a pack, have a carrying case for the diaper bag and cover less of the breast than the Madela shields for more skin to skin contact with the baby. I am concerned about her latching on to just the nipple that the shield promotes. It could be a problem if she ever agrees to go back to nursing without a shield, but I'll deal with that if it ever comes to it. In the mean time, I'm just happy that I'm able to breast feed when I thought it would never happen.
