I have a 6 year old daughter that loved her and I building with Legos. We bought a box of K-Nex building blocks because of the large number of the the basic 4 by 2 blocks where lego gives very few. Realy enjoy the selection and the large number of items you can build using the K-nex with the blocks. The only draw back is getting them to snap together is sometimes hard. If you could fix that problem they would be a far better product than Legos.

I just love this set! You get at least three times the bricks compared to legos, and this would be fine just by themselves! The only thing I don't like is that the knex that come with it are small compared to traditional knex, so they aren't compatible with each other. It's worth is just for the bricks though! I'm wanting to get another!

My 6 year old daughter loves building with Legos so we decided to try these since they have the extra connecting pieces to build more unique pieces. Unfortunately, they are much more difficult to snap together than Legos. My fingers hurt after building just one thing. I had to do it because she couldn't get them together. They do work with Legos but are still very difficult to get them together.

The blocks are somewhat difficult to snap together and sometimes take much work to keep together. My 3 year old does great with Legos for 4 years and up, they are very small and has no trouble with them at all. Not with the K'nex blocks though.
Do like the design book and there are fantastic ideas for building.
I am considering ordering extra pieces from K'nex only so that I may build several items at the same time that need the same pieces. I figure there is no reason I can't continue to build for my son, even if I do get frustrated at the pieces.

You get a lot of bricks for a good price. Lego brand would cost 2-3 times as much. The bricks are comparable to Legos in quality and are compatible. The set includes just enough of other K'nex pieces that you can see what they are like, but not so many that you feel cheated of bricks.

They could have done a better job with the K'nex adapters, but they are good for adding a few traditional K'nex pieces to brick structures. Also I like that these bricks have holes through them because it allows you to reinforce your building structure.

I bought these at my local [...] and the whole family has had a great time playing with them. There are tons of great pieces for building just about anything you can imagine. Be very careful if you have babies or toddlers in the household because some of the pieces are small and are a choking hazard.
