I sent this to my nephew for his first birthday. He & his parents all agree that it's the very best gift he received. He loves to "cut" the sushi, & plays with this set all day long. He even goes to sleep with his sushi knife! It gets an A+! I would absolutely recommend this gift, even for little boys.

I love this set myself, but I love most of the Melissa and Doug toys. I think their items are very well crafted and love that they are wooden and not cheap plastic. Both of my kids(5yr old and 1yr old) like this set and I would definitely buy it again. It is very nice and worth the money especially for the enjoyment the kids get out of it (and mommy to). Instead of pretend tea parties all the time we have pretend sushi dinners. :)

I got this for my daughter because she watches her mother and I eat real sushi all the time but she doesn't like the taste. She loves to pretend to eat with us because she feels like a grown-up. This is another great idea from Melissa & Doug.
