We chose these for a couple of reasons: 1) BPA free. 2) You never know if you're going to have a gassy baby so you might as well try to preempt the problem...and 3) The positive reviews.

We've not had any problems. Our daughter doesn't have gas issues either. They come apart/go together easily and we've not had any problems with leaking. Since our daughter was breastfed in the hospital for her first 36hrs (she's our adopted angel!) we wanted the transition to the bottle to be as easy as possible so we immediately replaced the Born Free nipples w/ Nuk nipples as they are most like the breast. They fit perfectly.

Sure these bottles are pricier but when you think about how much they'll be used and for how long, well, it all balances out. The smaller bottles actually hold 6oz and they'll be used w/ the sippy cup handle/adapter when the time comes. :)

Love these bottles. I'd give them 5 stars, except that I don't think the 5oz bottles are necessary. For those who are expecting or have tiny ones at home, I'd recommend that if you go with BornFree, you buy the large 9 oz. size bottles. Yes, newborns and younger infants will eat five ounces or less at a time, but you can use the big bottles for the smaller amounts. Eventually, when baby is eating more than 5 oz. at a time, you'll need the larger ones anyhow. So my recommendation is to just buy some of the larger bottles so you can use them from beginning to end. The bottles come with Level 1 nipples, but you should also get some Level 2 nipples to use when the baby is older and needs a faster flow.

BornFree also makes a trainer cup, which we love. You can buy that separately, as well as extra nipples/spouts for it. It uses the same venting system as the bottles.

Ease of use:
We've been using these for about 10 months. My son is primarily breastfed, but he gets bottles at home sometimes, as well as at daycare. He took to the BornFree bottles without any problems. They're the only ones we've used, so I can't compare them to any other brands, but they're worked well for us. They've never leaked, EVER, unless we forgot to put the vent piece in. There are extra pieces due to the venting system, but it really only takes a few seconds to assemble.

Cleaning:
I haven't found it a burden to wash these, though it does take a little extra time because of the extra pieces. Instead of buying the more expensive BornFree twister brush, we just used the $3.99 Avent brush and it worked fine. Maybe the BornFree brush would be even easier.

Comments about Born Free Inc BornFree 2-Pack 5-oz Wide Neck Bottles:

I used to use tommee tippee and i thought that was good stuff until I use this bottle! Yes, so many parts but not as many as other brands (dr. brown or tommee tippee colic). LO eats better and less fussy after eating. also i notice that it dries faster than tommee tippee.

Comments about Born Free Inc BornFree 2-Pack 5-oz Wide Neck Bottles:

I registered for three different bottles to make sure I found the best one for my daughter. The research I did showed that Born Free are among the top rated bottles, and of the three I have tried with my daughter, I have found she takes them the best. The other two flowed too quickly for her and choked her, even though they all had stage 1 nipples. She has never had that problem with the Born Free bottles and she began taking them at 4 weeks. I am keeping the other bottles to try them when she is older and can handle a faster flow, but for now, I am hooked on the Born Free and would recommend them to any parent trying to find a good bottle.

Comments about Born Free Inc BornFree 2-Pack 5-oz Wide Neck Bottles:

these bottles are pretty good. i googled online to see which bottles were one of the best and this one came up.. it does not leak when closed or shaken. my new born got the hang of it great. stage one nipple was really good for my daughter she liked it so much she was on 4oz by her 2nd week. the only cons to these bottles is the cleaning process. There is about 6 pieces to be cleaned to this bottle which is a bit time consuming but otherwise they have been good to me. i have them in plastic and glass. glass are great too.

Comments about Born Free Inc BornFree 2-Pack 5-oz Wide Neck Bottles:

I bought 1 of every brand of bottles to try. These are the best because unlike all the others the nipple doesn't collapse. After breastfeeding was well established, when my son was about 2 1/2 months these were the bottle of choice. Know he will drink from any bottle but born free is #1.
    Pluse they have Nerver leaked.

Comments about Born Free Inc BornFree 2-Pack 5-oz Wide Neck Bottles:

I got one of these bottles for free when I registered at BRU when I was pregnant. We have been having some issues with gas and spit up with the bottles we have been using so I figured I would try this one out. Maybe it's because we have been using Playtex and their stage 1 nipples are different, but this one just about choked my little girl. She kept eating but she would cough and her eyes would water, the formula was just coming out too fast. I'm going to try again in a few months but right now the nipple just doesn't work for my 1 month old.

I love these bottles. I am breastfeeding and gave my son a bottle at 4 weeks to get used to drinking from a bottle before I went back to work. He took it like a Rockstar! We have had no problems with these bottles. They do not leak, and they are wide mouth bottles, which are super easy to clean. I definitely recommend them.

These bottles are horrible for newborns. I used the Avent bottle system with my older daughter and loved them, but hated how they leaked. So I decided to try the Born free and for some reason, my newborn did not like these bottles. They do not work and kept her gasy all the time., She has been so cranky after each feeding. She also seems to inhale the formula in the bottle which makes it sound like she's choking. THe pediatrician said shes has heard tons of complaints about these bottles. I switched right back to Avent and my daughter has been happier and more content.

Comments about Born Free Inc BornFree 2-Pack 5-oz Wide Neck Bottles:

I really want to like these bottles! I bought them based on all the positive reviews but have found them to be a waste of money.

My son used these bottles for two weeks with Similac Advance, and although I could see several bubbles forming as he drank, it didn't seem to bother him and I wasn't sure if it was "normal" for this particular venting system or not. At the suggestion of his Doctor (nothing to do with the bottles), we switched to Similac Sensitive and within two minutes of his feeding, the bottle was completely full of bubbles and he was screaming in pain!

My darling 2 month old son does not deserve to be in so much pain due to a bottle, and neither does yours! I will be on the hunt for a better bottle with a venting system that actually works.

By the way, the level 1 nipple flow is considerably faster than the stage 1 nipple from Playtex, something to be aware of.
