While working at TRU as a college student, I played nearly every guitar in the store. One of these came back after christmas without a box or accessories, and with a few cosmetic issues. I bought it at a discount just to have knock around guitar and 3 years later I am still playing it. I love this little thing. While it dosen't sound like a million bucks, it stays in tune, has good intonation, and I would recommend to any parent as a great buy. I also replaced the strings with nylon strings. They are easier to play for beginners, and I haven't broken one in the 3 years they were on there. I bought the cheaper model for my little sister and was disappointed. Don't skimp if you actually want your kids to learn how to play, because nothing is more frustrating than a cheap unplayable instrument.

Bought one for my 9 year old. Been playing guitar for years myself, and I should have known not to buy an instrument without playing it first. By overall appearance, it's a beautiful guitar. By construction however, it's not good. Dead frets at the top of the neck and near the twelfth fret, and unlike other guitars, there's no truss rod to make any adjustments to remove them. If you're looking for something quality for your child to learn with, this guitar is definitely NOT what you're looking for. Spend the extra money and buy a brand name guitar.

    Three of my young students used this guitar after using the First Act 30" guitar. All 3 guitars have been very durable, playable and stay in tune. The sound quality is good and the action is low, which means the strings are close to the wood of the fretboard. Low action is good. These are 3/4 size so their great for small students, age 10 and up. I had one guitar with buzzing on the 12th fret but I was able to fix it myself by filing the bridge. Most intermediate players won't be playing around the 12th fret anyway. I recommend First Act to my students because they have been good products for the money.

          I ordered this guitar for my daughter after she saw it in the catalog. Unfortunately, the guitar that arrived does not look like the one pictured in the catalog & it doesn't even look like the picture on the box (the same picture on this web page.). The guitar I received has a strange looking tiger or dragon painted on it. Not something my daughter would like. She thinks it is creepy looking and I kind of agree with her. Very disappointed.

          I was so exited to get this guitar for christmas, when i opened it looked so amazing to me! but the problem with first act guitars is that the strings out tune so fast! and the strings get rusty really fast! and it sounds ughh... LOL. but i would not recommend this guitar to ANYONE.. Its a very bad brand. If i could rate it 0 stars i would

            This guitar might look good, but it is too flawed for my taste. Got it for Christmas two years ago and it is the worst investment I've ever made. Each string broke multiple times when they were almost in tune. The neck was also warped right out of the box. The frets were too long even for large hands and the strings are packed too closely. I just ended up smashing it because that was all it was good for as a guitar. It was durable though, I had to slam it against solid concrete a good ten times to break it.
