I just had my third child and I exclusively breastfed each one. I used Lansinoh in the past and the hospital gave me a batch of the Medela brand when I left. This blows them both away! I was doing some registry clean up and purchased a few more items. I saw this and decided to try it out because one of the reviewers mentioned that it seemed like it helped heal the chapped nipples. Well, it does! I got bruises on both nipples and it healed it up quick... Then I got a blister on one of my nipples I freaked out, even cried. I thought this would cause so many problems for me. I used the Nuk balm heavily and it cleared up in two days! I'm back trying to stock up, because I don't want to be without this balm. If your nursing, do yourself a favor and get this!!! Your nipples will thank you!

I did not care for lanolin. Had the prescription nipple creme (triple nipple creme; has to come from pharmacy that compounds). But this stuff was the best! Easy to put on, cool and relieving, not gritty like lanolin.

Every gift I now give to a new mom includes two things (if she's nursing):
1. the medela hydrogel pads (which you only need for about the first 3 weeks)
2. a tube of this stuff (which you will love to have for months)

Nursing is hard. Stick with it and get help. Someone gave me this Gerber balm at 4 weeks, when I was ready to give up. I kept going, one day at a time, and ended up nursing my son (to some extent) for 20 months.

I am a first time mommy so in preparation for breastfeeding, I purchased a tube of the Medela and Lansinoh nipple ointments. I still have the original Medela tube and am on my second tube of the Lansinoh. However, I am on my fourth or fifth tube of this wondrous invention!
Lansinoh receives great ratings but I didn't think it was all that great. My nipples were still tender after multiple applications of this each time I nursed. When I started using the Nuk, my nipples got better and were rarely sore.
My only complaint is that this isn't sold in the stores near me so I have to purchase them online. Now, I buy at least two tubes at a time!

I absolutely love this! No messy ointment, this is like a huge chapstick... amazing. I like it a lot better then lanolin.

This product is the best! It is super easy to apply and saved my breasts. I had trouble with my nipples being very chapped and sore which made it extremely uncomfortable to nurse. This stick totally reversed that.

This little stick is the best gift I ever got!!! It's sooooo handy having this in a stick. You can pop the cap off, rub on, and put the cap back on with one hand. It's easy to use and not greasy. The best part is not having to wash it off before the next feeding. It was soothing and felt good.

The product goes on smoothly and is very soothing. My clothes did not stick to it like they did when I used lanolin. I'm going out to buy some more now that my second baby is on the way.

I've tried Lansinoh and it was horrible. Not only was it a tube of clear tar, but it waterproofed the nursing pad and that's never a good thing. I tried this stick with my next baby and am not a true believer. It's way easier, not at all goopy, and it works better! I read a review here that said a woman was told that it could lead to cracked nipples, but I'll see her "might" and raise her an "it doesn't". As for how bad petroleum is supposed to be for babies, how come Aquafor is so highly recommended for them when it's mainly petrolatum too? The fact is, the one stars are from women who never actually used it, and the five stars are from women who have. Think about that.
