My oldest son got these for his first birthday and he will be turning three in a week and still plays with them!! Sometimes he builds with them other times he looks at the pictures and letters and tells me what they are. Most recently he builds them up and then knocks them down with a ball like bowling!! Great because they are foam and I have a 3 month old as well so I don't get nervous when he plays with them around his brother!! Also I love the case because he puts them away after every use and the case has yet to tear!!!

The blocks are a little confusing. There may be an "A" word on one side, and an "A" on the other but then a "Z" on the other, but no "Z" word. Hard to explain to a little one who can't quite read. Definitely for toddlers. Not what I expected. Also, these are foam like, so if you have little ones who like to chew on things, these may be better if they are older.

Comments about Toys 'R' Us Imaginarium 30-Piece Alphabet and Number Foam Blocks:

I've been looking for a good set of soft blocks for my grandchildren, but found there are very few types to choose from. This set is ok for the cheap price, but could be a lot better if the manufacturer -- or Toys R Us -- took the time to listen to grandmas. This set can be thrown without hurting another child (blocks will inevitably be thrown by toddlers). Unbelievably, there are many such blocks on the market that are so hard or sharp-edged that they can injure a child. But this set us too small and has too many crevices to keep clean.

These have a strong chemical smell, and the printing was already coming off some of them when I first opened the package. I don't feel right about giving them to my son, so they're going back.
