Contains the smell great as long as the diapers are pushed past the closing arm (you'll understand once it's in your home!). The only bad thing is that it is a little too low to the ground and if Playtex made it taller then it would give extra space for more dirty diapers. Overall a worthwhile buy and must-have. I change the bag every week and go through a whole refill every 2 weeks. How often you change it just depends on individual use.

As far as the refills, they are a bit too costly.

Also, my husband & I have both discovered a major flaw recently. Other than it being yucky to stick your hand in & have to push the diaper into the chute. I suppose we can live with that because we wash or hand sanitize after changings anyway.

However, there is a "lip" around the refill. If you are rushed or distracted in any way, it will tear the skin off of your knuckles. And boy does it smart. We have both done it once each now.

I am planning on e-mailing or calling the company. Having an open wound like that, is open to infection, especially considering what you are handling. NOT GOOD !!

    I really like it because it holds so many diapers (along with the actual diaper genie elite). The only thing though is when it's time to throw out the diapers, it's so heavy. I like also that the diapers never touch the pail,

            I don't like that we have to tie the bottom of the bag in order to make sure it doesn't drop everything out. Very strange, when at the grocery store the vegetable bags are similar in function, but their bottoms are sealed.

                    I have a diaper genie II and I love it! This is seriously oder-LESS! Even when opening the lid to put another diaper in!! I have this on the first floor of my home in the bathroom. I also have a diaper champ in the second floor bath room and man, it SMELLS. I use it with the diaper champ bags, and when you open it to add another dirty diaper, it is TOXIC. Stick with the diaper genie! I cant live w/o it!

                      These bags are a little pricey, but we have found that you can save a lot of space if you smoosh the diapers down and get the air out... like vacuum packing them.

                            We have the Diaper Genie II and my brother has the II Elite. These refills are for both and we love them. The refills are a bit pricey but it is worth it to have a house that does not smell like dirty diapers. We have found that you can get them cheaper at other stores so we often do. We have one Diaper Genie for the first floor and plan to go out and buy another for the second floor.
