I bought this item to keep my 3 year old son from getting into his closet. It fits very snug over the doors, even when its open all the way, and I have a standard door size. If I had to use this on a closet I used daily, I would get annoyed having to slide it side to side considering how tight it fits, but I store old toys and clothes he's outgrown so it doesn't matter much to me.

Some of the reviews talk about young kids (even 9 months old) being able to defeat the product. I don't see how that's even possible if its being used properly.

Overall its an easy, cheap fix if you want to keep your kid out of a closet that you don't need to use often.

We've been using this product on the bi-fold door to our pantry for several months now. It has served as a quick, easy and very economical safety solution for us. Our son is now about 13 months old and it continues to keep him out of the pantry while still allowing us quick access. I'm sure there are more durable, higher quality options out there, but this one has worked well for us, and for the price, you can't beat it!

We had hopes to use it in our son's room, but he defeated it in less time than it took to open the package. I have heard sneezes take more time. Usefull against those still in the womb or maybe a 1 year old, but I can't make any promises. If you bought this keep your receipt, and invest in scotch tape as it will work better.

I was thinking it was something that would sit in the middle of the set of bifold doors. You need one for each door so two per closet. It took like 30 seconds to put up and twist to make it tight. Not sure how well this will work but I think I have to order another to try it and get the full effect. I hope it works..

This looked like the perfect solution for the two bi-fold doors in our hallway. Unfortunately, the lock fits too tight on the door (even when completely loosened) to do any good. It just scraped the layer of paint off of my door when I tried to slide it. I tried on the thinner set of doors, but it was still too snug.

Even if it fit, I realized it would be very awkward using this product every day. I'm 5'9" and still had to really reach to get to the top of the door, not something I'd want to do a few times a day.

It doesn't work............. my 8 month baby can open where I put it very easily.....it's material is not good.

at first i though these wouldn't work, they were to narrow to fit over my bifold doors (and mine are pretty standard), but I just unscrewed the inner part, removed it and now they work like a charm.

I am using this on a bi-fold door to keep a dachshund out of the office area, where we also keep a cockatiel. It keeps the door firmly shut when in use and is easy to move to the side to open the door if needed.

After puttinging the lock on my door, my daughter pulled the door open and the lock snapped back into its origional place. Do not buy if you have a toddler that is strong. Will not hold. Cheap plastic lock.

This was horrible! I have standard bi-fold doors and it wouldn't fit over them. It wouldn't slide at all, even in the fully open position.
