What is advertised here is the stage 2 nipples with no drip slits for the original ventaire bottles that were discontinued.I recieved the ventaire advanced nipples for the advanced bottles and these DO NOT have the non drip slit meaning that these advanced nipples are free flowing and drip all over the place. These new nipples for the advanced system are NOT interchangable with the older discontinued version. I went through this ordeal twice with this company assuming it would have been corrected the second time around and was of course extremely disappointed when I was sent the wrong items again. Please correct what you are advertising here to the proper item so that others are not fooled as I was.

When I purchased these nipples, they were supposed to be for the standard system, they are not. [...] Though it says they are for the standard bottle system, they are for the advanced system. Do not buy these if you want nipples for the standard system.

I have the podee feeding system, where the baby drinks through a tube connected to the nipple holder, these ventaire y cut nipples work really well with it, as they are no drip and the baby is able to drink his bottle completely by himself, with no mess! I also tried dr. browns y cut nipples and they were too soft.

Since the VentAire Advance was released, I have not been able to find these y-cut stage 2 nipples at any store. My daughter has had GERD since she was 1 month, so bad I had to stop nursing and pump for months so I could add cereal to the breastmilk to thicken it. She's now 10 months and been on formula for 2. These nipples seem to make it easier to get the thickened fluids through without allowing excess gas in her tummy.

Since the VentAire Advanced was released, I haven't been able to find these y-cut nipples at any store. With teething, my daughter damages the nipples every 2-3 weeks now. Unable to find these, I started using Dr. Brown's, and my poor baby has been writhing in gas pain the last few days. I'm so happy to find these again! I bought 20!

Bottom line- I've found these to be the best for GERD. With being a preemie (even though she nursed), my daughter had a difficult time with the wide nipples- still got air in her tummy. These standards have been the best. She still gets reflux, but the least amount with these.

Guess what??? Even playtex doesn't have them anymore!!! But there is help.
the agent told me of an alternative solution. they have a VARIABLE FLOW nipple in the drop in system with the "Y" cut. No other company or nipple has this specific "Y" cut necessary for babies taking cereal in milk ( because it gets thick and doesn't flow out of the single hole or even 3 hole nipple.) so guys, the other solution is to get the drop in system with the variable flow nipples and feed the baby.

When I was seven months pregnant with Kinsleigh my five year old son passed away. After she was a month old she was diagnosed with GERD. Needless to say the thought of her choking because of it made me feel like I needed to watch her constantly. I got and still get very little sleep because I could not survive losing another child. Fortunately, a friend of ours gave us a bag full of different bottles she had used with her son. Two of them were the original Platex VentAire standard bottles. When we were told to add rice cereal to her formula to thicken it up of course it became too thick to fit through any standard (hole cut) nipples. As I was digging through the bottle assortment I noticed the "Y" cut nipples on the old VentAire bottles (stage 2 nipples, the stage 1 nipples are not cut enough). These were perfect (you do need to work the hole open a bit out of the package)! They allowed her to adjust the flow. At first it was a little difficult. However, within three feedings she had it down pat! There is another popular brand on the market with more than the normal amount of parts to clean that also have a "Y" cut nipple you can purchase. I have ordered one and will leave my comments on it's page once we have tried it. Not realizing that Platex no longer makes the original standard VentAire bottles I sent my husband out to purchase three boxes of VentAire bottles. When he returned with VentAire Advanced I wanted to cry. The vent at the bottom is different and the new nipple has a round hole in it. After serching the internet I did find the original standard size bottles on [...]and I also realized the old nipple works with the new Advanced VentAire. Just double check the packaging if you try to order any online. I hope this helps anyone else trying to deal with GERD. We have been using these nipples and bottles for a month now. I have been able to lay her to sleep in her bassinet for two weeks now thanks to these wonderful bottles and a inclined sleep positioner (have to lay her on her side)also sold here at BabiesRUs. Now she only spits up a tiny bit when burping. She gained three and a half pounds in three weeks, grew an inch and a half,burps much easier, swallows much less gas, fusses very little, squirms much less, and is able to sleep four to five hour shifts in between evening and night feedings. THANK YOU PLAYTEX!!Note: I have easily found Playtex original WIDE standard VentAire bottles at my local supermarket and BabiesRUs. Because I could not breastfeed we used standard nipples in the hospital. I am guessing that because of that she will not take any wide bottle or nipple. Playtex nursers and Avent were impossible! She could not latch onto them. She could only get the projected part of the nipple in her mouth. When she lost suction because of that she swallowed tons of air. It was awful. If you are looking for a bottle that is truly the most like breast feeding I would highly recommend the new NUK Orthodontic nurser. I would be using that bottle hands down if cereal would go through it. The movements of her tongue and mouth appeared to be identical to those of breast feeding. It also has a unique venting system, but read the directions. One last comment...to anyone adding rice cereal to formula to thicken it keep in mind it is also thickened when and if it comes back up. Making it very difficult to clear from an infant's nasal cavity. If the infant is placed on (after sitting up for 45 minutess) it's back he or she will probably not be able to clear much of it at all with out the help of one of those great suction bulbs. I would also recommend using a normal sized one. The newborn bulb may not have enough suction to do the job adequately.

I love these bottles. My son who is 4 used these and now my daughter who is 10 months uses them. I bought all new bottles for her when she was born but now with wear on the nipples I can't find replacements anywhere. All that is out there is the Venti Advanced! I don't want to buy all new bottles for just a few more months of using these bottles.

I love these bottles and nipples at first i did not like them but then i realized they were a stage two nipple so once my son started eating more food i used the stage two nipples. I like them better then the doctor brown. He used those for the first two month and now he can't get nothing out. The only con about the ventair standard nipple is while i was washing them my nipple brush went straight though the top so i have to replace them. Make sure you remove the nipples before warming like it says on the side of the bottle i think that was what cause my problem other than that i love these bottles

I really loved these bottles, but now they have come out with VentAire Advanced and i can't find the standard nipples anywhere. I have twin daughter's and have 20 bottles and now have no nipples to put on them because they have come out with these new bottles. Now what, buy new bottle. Crazy!!!
