I purchased this pacifier for my newborn after his dr recommended it when the regular pacifiers were giving him a rash around his mouth.They have worked well a few days after he started using this pacifier his rash went away.I have been very pleased and my son loves his pacifier that i ended up buying him The First Years bottles which is the same as the pacifier and just as expected another great product from this company.I saw some one had mentioned about teal being the only color but that is not true i have found them in pink and blue as well its just a matter of looking for them in different stores.They are a little big but that is not a problem have two holes on them so baby can breath

As many moms I went out and bought a ton of pacifiers, to my dismay I had none of them come delivery. I asked the hospital if I could have a pacifier and this is what they gave me. My daughter was hooked from then on, all those pacifiers have went to waste. Though I was a first time mom, I was familiar with them; though I wasnt a fan. They seemed very bulky and GREEN, not suitable to me for my baby girl. So my search began, I finally found purple and pink at my local babies'r'us, but I stil wanted to fun something cutzie with the same nipple. Thought I didn't really find cutzie, I did find the Hawaii Medical Gumdrop pacifier. They aren't as bulky, come in more colors and don't cover as much of the babies face. The same man who made the soothies, made these, the only down fall is you can only order online. My daughter used the gumdrops the most, however we have resorted back to the soothies because there local and she only uses them for naps and bedtime. All in all its a great product, it's all about preference.

I had registered for the Avent binkies but received two of these from the hospital after our son was born. For the life of me, I cannot get him to take the Avent (the nipple is flat and wide and our son is bottle fed). The nipple on the Soothie is very similar to his bottle so he seems very pleased.

Cleaning these are also a snap - boil, dry and go. The Avents took forever to dry and water seeped between the plastic base and the nipple.

Lastly - I love the fact that these are colour coded by age. We have the 0-3 in green and the 3-6 (firmer plastic for babies with teeth) in blue. Makes life so much easier.

Our twins were given these in the hospital and they loved them from the start. We have purchased several more and always have a couple of spares in our diaper bag. These pacifiers are very comforting for our 3-month old boys and did not seem to cause any trouble with nursing. Soothies are durable, easy to wash, and have a nice scent to them. I have a couple of the Soothie holders that were made for these, but they are so large and heavy, it is hard for our boys to keep the pacis in their mouths with the holders attached. Other than that, though, these are awesome! I like how you can see inside the babies mouths through the little opening in the paci; it is cool to see their little tongues going. Also, it is great to be able to hold the paci in by sticking a finger in the opening.

I didn't want to give my son a paci when he was born because I wanted to nurse, but after the first night we tried this one based off a recommendation from the nurses. He took right too it and had no issue on nursing. I liked that it was only one piece because I heard it was safer. Only complaint is it was so big and once you attach the holder, his face was hidden away. He never would take a different paci.

These are the pacifiers given to newborns by Lankenau Hospital (rated 6th in the state!) and baby took to it naturally without interfering with breastfeeding. Although my newborn took to it no problem, it seemed a little big for her face and also seemed a little heavy. i'm looking at the Philips Avent nighttime paci's only because they have covers, are lighter, and have a glow in the dark ring. wish the soothie came in different colors instead of teal! both the Avent and the Soothie are silicone and bpa free, so it's basically your baby's decision and some extra frills that differentiate the two.

This is a great paci, as my son really likes using it. He is a big time sucker, so if we don't give him a paci, he will suck his fingers off even after he has ate.

Babies seem to be able to keep this in their mouth.

The bad thing is you can't attach a pacifier holder to them.

When my son first came home from the hospital I had decided that pacifiers were to be considered contraband because I had this irrational fear of nipple confusion. I say irrational because the Soothie looks NOTHING like my nipples (don't know about anyone else but, I generalize assuming no one actually has 1" long nipples ... assuming :) he ended up loving them until we made the mistake of substituting another kind of paci after his Soothie fell on the floor and we couldn't sterilize it right away (ya, I'm paranoid). Anyhow, I ordered two more Soothies before my son decided that he preferred the substituted paci over the Soothie. Anyone need two newborn age Soothies??
