This movie is not for young children. The content of this movie was surprising since the toys are for toddler age. Very disappointing!!!

This was the first my little pony video that my daughter saw, and she just loves it. The episodes have much more of a plot than the horrible dvds that come with the mlp sets now (the new ponies with big bratz-style eyes). The plots are similar to a scooby doo show- a little bit of a mystery, possibly a tiny bit scary for a little kid.

There are even mean little ponies in one episode who sing a song that goes, "We're gonna make you sorry, we're gonna make you pay...!" Kind of different from the dull, never controversial 2010 ponies dvds that are nothing more than marketing vehicles, zero plot, horrible quality animation and painfully bad "muzak".

There are some 80s flashbacks that make it fun for adults: a pony superstar who sings kinda like the old Michael Jackson and does the pony moonwalk! Nothing earthshattering, but far better than the newest pony dvds, and my 3-year-old adores this video, so I'm giving it 5 stars.

This is an older movie and at first thought it was kind of cute - the first episode anyway. And then I watched the past the first episode. There is a scary monster episode that kidnaps ponies and steals the other ponies shadows and makes them sick - well after the second or third viewing my daughter started becoming scared of shadows. Definitly not appropriate for a 3 year old or any young child frankly. The other stories are not well thought out and kind of mean as well. Definitly not as good as the two other My Little Pony movies we have that are newer stories. Because of the shadow issue this movie found it's way to the trash.

My 3 yr-old is scared with most of the scenes. Although not violent, the theme is too mature for the recommended 3 years old. She actually calls this movie "the Scary Little Pony".

Fun movie for kids to watch but I wouldn't recommend it for 3-6yr olds seeing how it is very different from the MLP movies of today. Remember kids movies of the 80's aren't as soft (but deeper) as kids movies of today. Maybe this movie should be recommended for ages 5 and up instead. I always recommend viewing a movie before your kid sees it.
It was very entertaining for the girls and their little brother as well as educational. The kids (ages 3, 5 and 7)enjoyed it although if you have an easily scared younger child ( my 3 year old boy) you may want to watch it with them but this movie is nothing that will keep them up at night. I loved how this show is a bit deeper than the new MLP and it seems to have more imagination too.

My granddaughter loved this movie, she's 3, and her mom remembered these ponys from when she was little and watched them. My granddaughter watches this pony movie over and over, it's her favorite next to Minty's Christmas.

I bought this DVD for my 3 yr old daughter who loves My Little Pony. First, the ponies in this movie are VERY unrealistic looking. Second, I do not feel this is age appropriate. There are a few ponies and scenes that were scary plus they used a few phrases that I did not feel my daughter should be hearing or repeating. One of the scenes has the pony's saying, "We're going to make you sorry and wish you were never born". I do not feel that is a good saying for any age. Needless to say I am very unsatisified with this movie. Do NOT purchase this for your child.
